I’ve had Pitties my whole life, 66 years, and I got some good advice years ago about training them. I keep a tennis ball in my pocket any time they will be around other dogs or kids or situations where they might get too focused on something. Distraction from early in their life by tossing the ball in front of them is Key to breaking the trance they may get in. Dogs are such creatures of habit they learn to break their own concentration and stop getting too focused on other dogs or kids or people who might draw their attention. Habitual all the way down to the number of seconds before you toss the ball. Let’s say you see them get focused on a dog and count to five in your head and break their concentration. They will not only break their own concentration but will do it in the five seconds you’ve trained them with. It’s amazing to see how much of a creature of habit they are.

Millie is just like my Staffordshire Bull Terrier Zeus. He's a Velcro dog and was rescued by the police and RSPCA in the UK after a life of abuse and being used as a bait dog for dog fighting.
When my fiancee and I went for the meet and greet, he came running over to us and rolled onto his back wanting attention and fusses.
He would not stop kissing us.
That was 6 1/2 years ago and still follows his Daddy around, wherever I go and wants to help with whatever I'm doing.
Thank you for giving Millie the love and life she deserves

What an amazingly good human you are! As the mom to a pitbull, I approve this message
Seriously, you hit all of the most important points. I have six rescue dogs and my pit bull is the most affectionate of all of them (And they are all incredibly affectionate dogs of different mixed breeds. And my pitbull has a history of abuse before I was able to adopt him and yet, he is the most trusting and forgiving and wonderful friend.

I don't know why people dont like pitbulls they are great i found a puppy a few months ago. i took him in, and i have 3 cats i thought that would be maybe a problem but it was not and he and my tuxedo are best freinds now

I have noticed a lot of the aggressiveness in dogs is just wanting to be friends or show some love. You do have to be careful because there are no bad dogs just terrible owners!

I really hate people automatically stereotyping pitties as aggressive. This video proves that they’re not. Some are, but you can’t blame all for the actions of a few

My pit is a lot like that too. She's has to know where I am in the house, sit at the bottom of any chair I'm sitting on, and wants to lay with me. I love my girl so much

Highest praise for helping pitbulls get a better reputation. They are very bright, very loving, but they can be aggressive if they're not socialized from a very young age.
reply

um, question, at 0: 36 did she really feed her chicken while the dog was reactive if so, wouldn't the dog consider that as a reward for correct behaviour I'm confused.
reply

Stop promoting pitbulls please. How many people will get them because of your video and end up with a tragedy Do you think about that before posting your videos

I am so happy for you Millie darling, that you have found your furparent that understands and loves you for who you are! May you have many happy years together!

reply

So kind, yes, I do the same. My pup is a blue nose too. She is much better after training but can still elicit fear from others.

I adopted an elderly working pittie. He was just like this, he also was really good as judging people. They are very loving dogs!
