Considering the Elder is the most powerful wand and does owe allegience who defeated the preveious owner, there are problems with Harry being able to snap it like a twig in the movie which didn't happen in the book. It was a cheap throw-away by the director and not in character with Harry who had respect for the other Hallows. Could he have broken it is also a problem, having been created by Death according to legend it is improbable that a mere wizard or mortal would have been able to do it, trying it would have had serious consequences!

There were good and bad things about both the books. The books obviously provided way more details while the movies left a lot out. I truly think leaving Neville's backstory out of the movies was a big mistake. However, even the books had plot holes. Such as, why did Sirius have to stay hidden at Grimmauld. Yes, his animagus form was known, but surely he'd heard of polyjuice. And it's not like he didn't have plenty of free time to brew it.

The books are way better. As is often the case when a book is translated into a film. It eas true with the Lord of the Rings books as well. They were much better than the films. There is just so much more that an author can include that often get left out of the movie. I guess that's why people often refer to the film as translated from the books. The books are usually way better than the movies. Just MHO.

Jk Rowling is also NOT a director, so that means, things have to be different like always in the films compared to the books. It happens all the time. The directors know whats best for the movies, thats why they are directors. The books focused on everyone, the movies had to focus on Harry Potter because limited time. It's a very simple concept people.

One more thing is missing in the Harry Potter movies. Everyone visited Arthur Weasley at St Mungo's hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries in the book but in the movie they didn't visit him at all. And Neville's grandma told Harry, Ron and Hermione in the book the fate of Neville's parents but in the movie Neville himself told Harry about it

Theres no doubt at all, that the Potter movies are simply legendary. Probably the best book to movie ever done. If you never read the books, you still got the majority of the story without any major plot points left out.
However. The books are what happened. The books are the story of Harry Potter. The books are law.

The books are always better than the movies. Well, even though the book series for How To Train Your Dragon was completely different from the movies I liked them both equally, but Harry Potter is a completely different situation. The books were way better.

At first, I just watched the movies and thought I knew everything about HARRY POTTER.
But when I read the books, I realised how much was left out in the movies.

Peeves The Poltergeist wasnt in the movies because the actor who played him was a comedian, so he kept making the kids laugh. So, they couldnt use the scenes.
