Maleficent telling Mal that her father was a human wasn't completely off. If Hades was trapped behind tge barrier on the island and stripped of his powers, he's basically a mortal at that point. Plus Meleficent being obsessed with power could've been acting petty since he would be more powerful than her without the barrier.
