I hope all programming isn't going to be analysed like this or we will kill it. it's one thing to highlight an issue being overlooked, which is definitely the case for some of these but its another to criticise even though its criticised in the show too. Ross's behaviour towards his ex and the 'Manny' was criticised in the show and probably had a role to play in increasing social acceptance in these areas. characters have to have flaws. people are flawed, the issue is when bad behaviour is presented as good behaviour. That does happen here but not in all the examples shown. We need to be considerate and sensitive for sure but lets not completely restrict writers from creating real characters in real situations?

This is quite literally the problem with society now. We can't joke, kid, or speak about anything without offending someone that will inevitably cry out for attention. It used to be that if a joke was made that the parties involved understood that it was a f&%ing JOKE! This new woke thinking is dangerous and will eventually lead to the fall of free speech. It's very sad.

Omg, just enjoy the show for what it was! All in the family, The Jeffersons all reflected societys humor at the time. They were hysterical as is this show. We can enjoy it for what it was and we see how far we came. Damn. sucking the joy/fun out of EVERYTHING! So done with the sensitive cry-babies!

If Friends were made today:
- the character Ross would exist ( he is very problematic )
- Ross and Rachel's relationship would exist too ( very toxic )
- Joey wouldn't be a womanizier
- Monica would remain fat
- Chandler and Joey would be a couple

Monicas braids cultural Cultural appropriation? They were in Barbados! When you go to the Caribbean Islands there are ladies all over the beaches offering to braid your hair for a certain price. At least that was the case when we went to the Bahamas.

People should start taking things not too seriously. like it wasnt some fantasy series. it was slice of life comedy series and in real life people arent pERFECT! Friend's characters were raw real and imperfect thats what made it so good

Actually, there's very little about this show that has aged well. Practically nothing. But considering they had similarly inappropriate storylines on How I Met Your Mother, I doubt that many lessons would be learned today.

yes, these were all extremely problematic moments. but we still love the show for numerous other reasons. every show has some problematic elements so it's okay to love a show despite all of that.

It's a COMEDY show, it's not meant to be taken so seriously.
It's not a tv show's job to educate society, that's your parents work. Sounds like this decade will be de death of humour.
