Weve marveled at some of the coolest costumes worn by our favorite onscreen characters. Normally, most of the props go to the costume designers however were showing you why in some cases, you should thank the actor too. Some changes proved to be too costly and downright impractical but no matter what, the one who should know the character best is the actor. Hopefully!
From Marvels Avengers changing looks to a ton of our beloved Harry Potter characters making suggestions of their own its understandable why they made their demands. In some cases, the actors sacrifice comfort for character interpretation serving the story as a whole in the end. Were not saying that every change made was warranted but they certainly know how to communicate with costume designers. Youll be surprised to know why these actors and actresses wanted to change their looks and how the wardrobe department responded.

It takes a ton of analysis and dedication to know a characters most fitting outfit so maybe these artists deserve an award or something. Or how about a little raise? Heather: I hate what Emma Watson did to Belles character. And her comments and demands (rightly so, youll see why in a minute) on not only how the character was rewritten, but her costuming. Belle was already as feminist as they get for the time period she was in. Not a single woman was deferred to on who they married and let to do whatever they wanted by their father. Okay, peasants didnt wear corsets/stays! They literally couldnt afford it, nor the fabric to make the dresses that needed them. Her dresses for the movie, is actually what corsets/stays looked like under the fancier fabrics and if they hurt, they were made wrong. These pieces were meant to protect the fabric and help the drape, not shape the woman. I Also thought they made Beast worse. He was not that much of an a in any story, or movie that predated her movie. Date: 2022-06-06
