Dune Audition Stories And How The Cast Landed Their Role With the release of the highly anticipated remake of the Dune movie on the way, its time to dive behind the scenes and reveal the fascinating stories of how the star studded cast of the adaptation for the classic 1965 scifi novel penned by author Frank Herbert. From an actor audition, to good networking, to meeting with a producer and pitching an entirely different project, all of these scenarios helped bring this talented group together, including stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, and Thanos himself, Josh Brolin. Dune director Denis Villeneuve was integral in the casting process, with his stellar reputation and filmography attracting a lot of the talent, drawn in by the chance to get to work with the talented filmmaker known for recent films such as Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049. On several occasions he didnt even require the actor to audition, and instead just straight up offered them the part! For Emmy award winner Zendaya Dune audition, she managed to absolutely blow away Villeneuve, convincing him on the spot that she was the right person for the role. Even some of the lesser known cast members were highly touted and sought after by Villeneuve, including Suicide Squads PolkaDot Man, David Dastmalchian, Lady Birds Stephen McKinley Henderson, and veteran actor Chang Chen

The acting was a bit dry & I think it was because The Director didnt want anyone to say he copied the original Dune movie unfortunately this time it may hurt the new movie, when you watch the original you can just tell the actors and actresses were really focused on making sure people would feel what they were saying, could feel the gravity of the situation but with the new movie the acting was just ordinary I didnt feel the excitement in their voice I didnt feel the danger especially with two of the most famous scenes the scene where they have shield practice and Paul isnt in the mood and the test of the box

I'm not gunna lie, when I saw it was Timothee in the trailer, I was like, oh god no, that's a horrible choice. But he actually pulled it off really well. By the book standards, it was a great movie.

how do i feel about remakes of older films? well, i liked the Thomas Crown Affair remake for sure. I didn't like any star wars after The Empire Strikes Back. all really bad remakes. lol

They should have re-cast her. She was flat. Watching her was like watching her in Spiderman. basically the same character. An unknown actress would have been much better.

I agree with Zendaya. The story is not exciting starts of slow. The movie reminds me of a soap opera. Without the big stars in the movie I don't think people would watch.
