Heroes in Crisis was more than -a little questionable-. Wally West has been a speedster since he was a preteen. His brain operates in picoseconds. No matter how distressed he was, he would not have had a superspeed accident in that way. He would have saved everyone there with seconds to spare. Also, he would know that killing his future self and bringing him to the past would have devastated the timeline. It's just taking the character of Wally West and grinding his face in the dirt.
