You may want to watch this video before having your next drink. For this list, we ll be looking at the most harmful effects linked to regular alcohol consumption. Our countdown includes Central Nervous System Problems, Reproductive Health Problems, Addiction Risk, and more. Are there other unwelcome side effects of alcohol that you think are important? I don't drink, I have only drank very occasionally had a single glass of champagne at a wedding. I was the sober driver on my 21st birthday. I have since developed a gi disease, the last time I had any was a year ago I had a 6oz glass of bubbly on our wedding anniversary our daughter gifted us. I burped wine bubbles for days. In my experience alcohol causes so much trouble. I use it to cook with for some French recipes and I make Brandy slush at Xmas for the big family party. I stick with Ginger Ale or Club Soda

I was an alcoholic throughout my 20's and early 30's, and my life was an absolute wreck. My house was filthy, I was driving drunk, buying entire bottles of wine/liquor or huge packs of beer after work. I'd even plan out my evening to make the buzz last all night. It was pathetic. I finally hit rock bottom when my rental sold out from under me and I was faced with cleaning it out. It was horrific, and I couldn't believe how I let it get that bad. Bottles and trash everywhere. I looked in the mirror and I was toeing the scale at nearly 200lbs from all the booze and junk food. I didn't recognize myself. I managed to quit cold turkey then and there, even though it was extremely rough. I just took it one day at a time, and forgave myself for days where I slipped up and had a drink. I've been completely sober for 3 years now, and after joining a gym last year, I've lost 40lbs so far! Here's to another sober, healthy year

Damn Kramer! That totally wasn't me at all a few years ago. These days, yes I still smoke, but I drink far far less, and I work at a bar, that being said, I've seen these old heads that drink all day everyday, even tho they never seem drunk, they all have health problems, I'm turning 40 in 18 days, and I've been on a kick of getting myself, and health together, new years resolution is to actually quit smoking, but I'm still going to have a beer here and there, like I have been the last few years, I used to be a heavy drinker, but now it's maybe a shift drink, or one or two when I get home, amd I absolutely do not drink hard liquor! Just a beer or glass of wine every couple days. It's definitely the cigarettes that are my bad habit. Thanks for this video guys

One thing that should be on this list is gout flare up. I use to drink at least 3 24 oz of beer everyday and about three times a year, i'd get gout flare ups in my knees which would prevent me from walking for about two weeks. On a scale from 1-10, the pain from gout is a 9 at least. If i even moved my knee joint a millimeter, i'd have to bite down on my belt and beg for death.

I stopped when my liver and kidneys were basically about to shut down and I was getting severe panic attacks where I felt like I was having a stroke, I was a heavy drinker 12 to 24 a day on days off 6 to 10 with some liquor on weekdays. Been sober for over 10 years and can't stand the smell of it

As someone who s sober by choice & has never really had a good experience trying to drink prior, I don t understand why alcohol is so normalized and encouraged in our culture. People should learn how to have a good time without getting plastered. And drinking on the regular.

Easy to be a party pooper when you tell your friends drinking too much (if at all) is bad. Better to try and dissuade them and make them think if you have a pocket full or knowledge

My mother died of pancreatic cancer but she kept drinking after being diagnosed. Weird thing is I never really drank until after she died. Now it hurts to eat. Addiction is a disease

I don't judge people for taking alcohol, but I've seen loved ones succumb to alcohol poisoning, which makes me less eager to try it out for myself.
