Honorable Mention: Toy Story 4
Toy Story 3 literally ended things in such a perfect way. The third movie literally spoke finales in every conceivable way: Andy leaving for college, while Woody and company have their grandest and most high stakes adventure yet. Part of that includes all of Andy's remaining toys being a part of the action. Plus, Bonnie is shown to be loving Woody and the rest of the toys, making a perfect end to the original story with Andy.
Toy Story 4 on the other hand basically has Bonnie neglecting Woody so suddenly without any proper buildup, especially considering how much she loved Woody in the third movie. Buzz's inner voice gag completely butchers his intelligence of figuring things out on his own and taking action (like in Toy Story 2. Plus, the other toys get sidelined a great deal. While it was partially justified with Don Rickles's death, meaning Mr. Potato Head's dialogue was archival voice recordings, it's not impossible to recast. Look at what happened transitioning from Toy Story 2 to 3: Slinky Dog was recast with Blake Clark after Jim Varney's death.

I will defend CARS 2, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, and THE SANTA CLAUSE 3: THE ESCAPE CLAUSE.
Regardless, a part of me does wish that ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS and DISENCHANTED never existed even though I thought they were okay.
I will say if I can go back in time to change film history, one of the things I would do is convince Disney from the 90s onward not to make direct-to-video sequels to their movies because those DTV follow-ups that I've watched as a kid ruined any enjoyment of their respective originals. If the studio wanted sequels, they should've been made at the Walt Disney Animation Studios for the big screen and not DisneyToon Studios for home video. Same thing with the direct-to-video sequels to movies like THE CROW (1994, OPEN SEASON, SURF’S UP, and BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA. I would remove them from existence. Granted, I still enjoy those four movies because I’ve never seen their sequels though I still had a glimpse of their trailers.

I loved the little mermaid 2, Mulan 2 and don't consider Belle's magical world or Cinderella 2 to be movies but I love them just the same. Ariel was about moving on and following her teenage impulse of discovering a different world. Melody was the first child of a Disney princess. She was on a mission of self discovery and had insecurities about other people even though she was of 2 royal families. Mulan 2 isn't about Mulan, but we see the pressures of being a princess and a happy ending for everyone. The 3 pack princess direct to video were made for the fun of seeing short stories about our favorite characters. I happily borrowed those from the library many times. If anything, Toy Story 4 should have been on the list along with pirates 5, Monsters University, Cinderella 3 and Mary Poppins Returns. Those were wasteful if you ask me.

I’m surprised and relieved Ralph Breaks the Internet isn’t on this list. I honestly feel like that film is over-hated. I can understand some of the things others dislike from the film like Ralph being clingy to Vanellope and sabotaging Slaughter Race to prevent her from moving in and the film ignoring the first film’s rule of Going Turbo with Vanellope moving in to Slaughter Race at the end. Those criticisms are understandable, but I feel like they’re going too far in their hatred in the film and acting like it’s the worst sequel ever made. Even if I shared the same sentiments, I wouldn’t go THAT far in my criticism as I feel like there are far WORSE sequels out there that do more damage than RBTI. Disappointing Probably. A crime against humanity and the original Not really.

I really enjoyed Cars 2, and liked the spy and action nature of the film. It gave it a nice contrast to the first film whilst still keeping its charm. I know some people find Mater annoying, but to be fair he does have a decent amount of character development and is able to prove he is more than just a silly comic relief character.
That, and I quite like the villains. Zundapp is pretty entertaining and whilst I do wish he wasn’t taken out right after being exposed, I’d say Axelrod is one of the better twist villains in Disney’s library, as the foreshadowing makes sense on a second watch without it being too obvious.

Hi! I loved Pocahontas to Journey to a new world! The songs were amazing and the storyline was really good. And while the little mermaid two isn’t my favorite Disney sea, I like it! It definitely has heart and the music was what I enjoyed about it the most. Down to the sea, and for a moment or two of my favorite songs. I also prefer the Santa Claus to an escape clause to the first one. Lucy is my favorite character in both of them.

I disagree about TLM2. That movie isn't as good as the original, but it still has a surprising amount of emotional nuance for a Disney sequel. It also does wonders for Ariel's character as she learns the true meaning of motherhood. And I would argue that Melody is a far stronger and more complex character than Ariel was in the first one because she has more internal conflict and experiences actual character growth.

I consider Pocahontas II to be a necessary sequel because it's based on real events. It can't just end with Pocahontas staying at home and nothing more happens. If the movie is any good is another question. And it's also a kid's movie, so at least it ends before Pocahontas dies.

Cinderella 2, RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE! This sequel and the movie after it were wonderful follow ups to the original film. I particularly enjoyed Anastasia's character growth, admittedly because I liked her the best out of the trio design wise.

Well, not all Disney Sequels are that bad, but some of them like Mulan ll and The Hunchback of Notre Dame ll are pretty bad especially how poorly written some of these sequels are. I mean why did they have to make Mushu an unlikeable villain!

Little mermaid 2 was fine. Yes it doesn't involve Ariel, but Melody is very sweet and has a cute story. At least it wasn't a lame retelling of Footloose with a forgettable boring villain like the prequel.

I will defend Alice Through the Looking Glass to the death. I love it anyway. Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 is definitely the worst as far as I'm concerned
