Hairdresser reacts to people ruining their hair with purple shampoo

Think of hair like an art color pallet to get the tones you want to see,
the rest is just will, courage and sometimes just luck! Lol
I've been keeping the yellow/orange tones out of my brown hair for a good year now, and I've also made some blue w just a cheap blue dye from the beauty store mixed w conditioner bc I like letting the color and condition set in every once in a while, It never turns my hair colors. My hair is course, brown and does not take well, but I've had a nice even color all this time now.

I'm looking for pointers on a specific hair cut. Long in the front all though my hair is shorter! Iknow it won't look as dramatic! I want the front to catch up w the baaaaack! (I always leave that statement out)
And also longer on the top! I've only ever had 1 great hair cut and am on the trail.

Hi Brad, I have watched several of your videos, this is the first time writing; thanks! Why do so many you tubers apply the purple shampoo as a coating vs lathering up? I noticed you thought conditioner would be better, I think so too. Using shampoo as a coating seems like such a waste of product and as you say hard on your hair, especially when leaving it on for many hours. I have always lathered up which I feel works just fine (although I use it every time I shampoo) and I get lots of compliments on my hair color.

hi brad. I do blonde highlights over black hair box dye too. and i love the purple shampoo its safer then a professional toner and doesn't damage the hair. I had some good results with it. been doing my own hair since beauty school so around 2003. had lots of trial and error and hair falling out cutting it etc. love your videos. maybe one of these days i will show you what i use for my hair. I love how you are super honest and not mean towards anyone who messes up. your awesome.

Well i have used purple shampoo for a good few year good shampoo, but after a while i have noticed my hair is lookin very very brittle and i cant think of anythin that would make it look so brittle! but after using these purple shampoos i have to think that using them every time i washed my hair it was damaging it so no more purple shampoo for me!

I have used Shimmer Lights for a couple of years, and all it did for me was make my great hair pop and it was a silver beautiful color. NOW, the top of my head is a horrible pinkish/purple color and the rest of my hair is still a beautiful silvery grey. How do I get rid of the puky pink/purple hair, and get it back to silvery grey. HELP!

. I have chestnut colour hair ( A mix of brown with blonde and red highlights ) every time I die it have to chop it off. Because it dries out to the point it just dies I have sensitive curly hair so I'm not sure if I should use any products in my hair?

Okay but real legit question. in the video about toning, you said not violet, but blue to use for orange. Icy = orange, violet = yellow. So what are the more specifics of ur product? Which one is it best for. I love ur videos and I learn a lot from them, keep up the good work and get it queen!

I had a purple shampoo mishap once lol. I put it on my dry hair and left it for FIVE (5) minutes. It sucked up ALL the pigment. I panicked and called my hair colorist expert friend who lives in Chicago and she scolded me and then told me how to fix it. What a mess it was though haha!

Hi Brad, is there a way to protect the more compromised (damaged) parts of the hair? No matter how precise I am with the application the purple pigment sticks to the lightest parts of my hair while rinsing! Drives me crazy, maybe Ill just dye my hair black instead

Brad, what would I do I'm 64 and my hair is always been so white for the last few years. Now that my hair is thinning out because I have lupus you can see the dark hair growing in and I don't want that. Should I put purple shampoo on my hair and leave it for a while?

When I was a model for Toni and Guy they did a high crown cut on my hair, it was the early 80's and they bleached my hair to a canary yellow, they liked it but the next morning when i woke up I didnt, so I got a box dye and toned it to a more natural color.
