Pro hairdresser tries the new revlon hair dryer plus Sinmerina: I have naturally frizzy type 2C/3A hair. I recently bought this hair dryer, and I only put heat protector on my hair before use. No other product. And my hair is amazingly smooth, soft, and silky. Usually I would put a bit of Argan oil to ease down the frizz, but I didn't need to with this blow dryer! It's the next day right now and my hair is still not frizz, still with zero other product. So for my hair type, I don't think I need to put any product when using this hair dryer. Mind you, my hair is weird. When it's curly, it's dry and drinks up all the moisture it can find; however, when it's straight, it becomes oily and any other product will weigh the hair down. This hair dryer basically helps my hair get that volume I have been looking for whenever I wanted to wear my hair straight. This project gave me amazing results that my mom kept the hair dryer for herself and now I had to buy another one lol.

I would think that smaller sections might be easier to manage with the smaller brush than the larger one? For me, it's hard to get close to the scalp to get the lift with small sections and a large brush. Also, the low and high settings - does it refer to the air speed? You may or may not need to do this, but lowering the air speed after the drying phase helps to set or lock in the smoothness of the blowout, imo. One more also. if you turn off the air with the ends still wrapped somewhat on the brush, wait a few seconds, then release, it sets a stronger curl on the ends. This also works at the scalp, to get more lift. Place brush at scalp, just roll at little, turn off air, wait a few seconds, then complete brush stroke the rest of the way down to the ends.

Thank you SO MUCH for doing this comparison review! I purchased the plus version (in pink) on ulta's website last night for in store pickup. I'm half way through doing my whole head of thick coarse shoulder length hair and I'm IN LOVE!
I had watched a couple other reviews and then saw this one and said ok, I know I can trust Brad Mondo. So, I bought it. SO MUCH EASIER than doing my hair myself with a round brush and dryer! Now I need to go buy some Brad Mondo hair products to replace the other thermal protectant.

Hi, professional hairstylist of 26 years here. Its worth noting, if ppl are worried about burning their hair, and considering how hot you mention these brushes get in the video, I would be leaning towards the older model with ceramic instead of titanium barrel. Titanium is a metal and is a conductive heat, which singes the hair as it heats the outside cuticle of the follicle. Ceramic on the other hand is a radiant heat, and tends to heat the hair more gently from the inside out.

I was in awe when the older version came into my life. I have so much hair like 3 heads, thick long hair and its also wavy. I used to take an hour w the straightener, this brush takes me 20-25 min. Its God sent. I use it on high heat and I have alot less damage than w the straightener but this is only because I have thick hair, would not recommend high heat on thin hair girl.

Both don't have automatic brush spinning. That's the most painful and exhausting thing when we self blow dry. (Even Brad did it to someone else's head and that's apparently easier than doing it on his head)
This procedure all of us would look to avoid the most in my opinion. It hurts the wrist so much!

You should review the revair. Im thinking about buying it but I dont know if is worth it. I have curly hair and I dont like the revlon tbh because it sort of burns your hair and I like doing my hair weekly because I suffer from sinusitis and cant stay with wet hair.

Great video! I am a little scared for the really hot settings and I was wondering if you have tried another brand even if it is not so affordable. i will definitely buy something that is a little less hard on the hair since my hair is a mess due to bleaching.

These beauty school heads are good but, it would be nice if it were a real person these dolls hair always end up looking great with any style. A human head gives you a real view of what your hair will look like depending on your hair texture.

I was happy to get the older one at Costco, and after seeing your video comparison I'm still glad. Thank you for showing how the older one is good for long hair so I don't feel bad about missing out on the new features.

I just got an amazing deal for the revlon plus on tophatter got it for $28! I had the original but the plus is so much better Im my opinion cause my hair is medium length and its super easy to detach for traveling.

What hair dryer brush (other than Revlon) would you recommend for super fragile, fine hair? It sounds like both Revlon products have the potential to fry your hair since there isn't much difference in heat settings.

Brad, Have you tried out the TYMO hot air brush or the 2 in one styler - do not want to damage my shoulder length hair which is quite fine and thinner. Would appreciate any recommendations. Love from Toronto!

Where is it burn your hands? Where your holding? Or on the ends by the little hole?
Coz that's a good point actually. What I have now it's is burning both way actually so I can't finish the dry with it
