Hairdresser reacts to early 2000s hair tools (bumpits, hairigami, topsy tail & more) TwasBrilligBrigid: Okay, so in the scene daysI used a Bumpit (singular) daily. Id post pics if I could. Id pull my hair like a mid half up, tease, spray with hair spray, put in the bumpit ( you had to kind of jiggle it in to get the comb spike thingies to catch in the teased hair. Then Id smooth over the top layer of my hair, tease the first immediate section in from ton the bumpit spray the crap out of it and then smooth everything over, hide the bumpit and it would in fact, stay in all day.
The results are nowhere near as ridiculous as the commercial, but I missed it recently and rebought them lmao.

My twister. Ironically called a braider tho it didn't braid cuz braids involves three strands intertwined instead of just twisted but anyway. Twisted the hair one way for tension and then twisted the entire thing to secure it. I still have that and this second version where you have to twist it yourself they actually charge more money for that and it did half the job.

Also I feel bad for the kids of today. 80's, 90's and early 2000's kids got to have all these cool fun hair accessories while kids today are only interested in looking like they're 18 when they're actually 12, are hooked onto their electronics being online all day, or are cyberbullying other kids. It's sad to see what the world has become.

I remember my mom buying a topsy turvy, and she would use it to make a bunch of different hair styles on me, but now I have short hair and she doesnt do much to her long hair so we just use it for parting our hair.
Also we never owned a bumpit, but she still does that little bump in the front of her hair

A Topsy Tail came n my Bumpit box
I still wear those 2 combs connected with stretchy string with beads on em. I always get compliments & it gives a little eye lift too
It kinda automatically bumps up the hair between the combs so u have that Bumpit bangs moment without teasing or spray.
I love em

My 7 year old daughter has ALL of these contraptions, except the bump it. We've got thick curls, so our hair kind of bumps itself. Those gems do suck, but if you put them on a thick strand of hair it usually stays a little bit longer. I'm constantly finding little half sticky gems all over the house!

I had the mini bump and mine actually came with a clip at the bottom that you just like put in and then just slide it into where its supposed to be it was a clear like comb and you and you just slide it in and then you just put the hair on top of it and that would be it it was fantI

I know this video is 8 months old and Brad has probably gotten hundreds of answers but bumpits did not stay in your hair like that with a little tease and fluffing your hair out they definitely fell out of your hair half the time they wouldn't even stay in

Harigami just unlocked a memory. That and the magic bullet infomercial. I used to turn my TV on after having nightmares as a kid and it'd be the infomercial hour after regular TV programming when off and I'd fall back asleep watching infomercials.

Yeah I had the confirmation braid twister. It twisted the strands and then twisted them together. It was actually really quick and the braids stayed together. Never had it stuck in my hair. I would do basically tolkien elf locks.

There's a spot for a bobby pin in the bumpits but they don't say that on the commercial. Also what they don't tell you is if you back comb or tease your hair and then comb over you get the same effect without the piece of plastic.

Before I had layering in my hair I actually got a Hairigami but it was called Dutt Maker. Didn't even knew that it was a 2000s thing, but it helped me to not use elastics at all, which reduced my hair damage. So can recommend this: D

Cracking up because I totally had the bumpits and the topsy tail. I'm pretty sure I never had the nerve to leave the house with anything other than the smallest bumpit though and they're probably still in my drawer

You can actually use the Topsy Tail to wrap a strand around your hair tie. That way you dont need Booby Pins and its really secure The fact that I played with all those hair tools makes me feel old

Lololol, I used these in high school! Everyone called me the bump it girl
They dont stay put unless you used the small size under your bangs. The large one had to be readjusted throughout the day.
