Diffuser dos and donts for perfect waves Tegan: As a curly girl my big tip would be to always diffuse the hair while sopping wet. After I get my hair cut I always ask them to wet it back down before drying and I always dry with my hair flipped over upside down. Also DONT touch! Leave the diffuser to do the work from sopping wet to dry! Drives me MAD when hairdressers touch and touch and you watch it get bigger bigger and bigger and then they say your hair isnt really that curly and Im like. no sh!

okay for a long ass time i've been ignoring my curly hair and just been brushing it and straightening it everytime i go out but when im at home i normally just let it air dry and be its curly self but i been wanting to try the curly girl routine and i feel like this is a start to help me because i know i got curl somewhere and maybe its just curl and wave and my hair texture is just something for the ages IDK but ima try this and see what happens

Honestly, I think it depends on the curl type. For me, I use the highest speed setting and low heat. I also blow upwards, because it adds the volume that I like. I think that if the hair dries frizzy while blowing upwards, youre not using really good products? Or maybe youre not properly conditioning it? (aka moisturizing it) However, I think that using the highest speed and blowing upwards isnt so bad if the curl type is tighter.

THANK YOU THANK YOU! I have never had success diffusing and never get great volume from air drying. Just tried this and its AMAZING! I think its because all of the other diffusing videos I have been watching are for really curly hair and mine is definitely more wavy. This gave me perfect, fluffy voluminous beach waves a la India batson. If you want a more defined look or have really curly hair check out manes by Mel.

massive rule for frizz avoidance. do not touch hair at the start of diffusing process. don't scrunch up while drying it, you'll ruin the curls already formed while carefully styling in your product!
100% use the hover method while carefully tilting hair in diff directions to slowly allow curls to dry with some movement.
Brad's video is good for wavy/straight hair, curls not so much.

I have a naturally curly hair but somehow I'm so not adept in styling my own hair I always end up with frizz. I mean I realized that I was doing everything wrong loll even to the point my hair is just fine if I dont do anything at all. Hilarious. thank you also. for this educative video. I'll try and update.

That's pretty shocking he can get such straight hair so curly without using a curling iron. My hair is really curly naturally and does pretty well with a frizz serum but I really find it tempting to try the product and see what it makes my hair look like and also my daughters who have more loosely wavy hair.

You can't put waves into hair that doesn't naturally wave. The texture is there or it isn't. If there's frizz, that's a pretty good indicator of there being texture that needs something to bring it out in its true pattern. You're great Brad, but you seem like you try to troll wavey girls.

That hair is so frizzy! Brad, hover diffusing then pixie defuse. I have done the curly girl method for 3 years now and I can tell you that diffusing my head upside down after I hover diffuse gives me less frizz. Your style would give me frizz! Tell me that manicans hair isn't frizzy!

Brad, I usually am 100% on board with your videos but youre off base here. You should know that the hair structure is different on curls/waves than it is on straight! If I did his technique, my hair would look like a rats nest. Someone buy him a curly mannequin.

He is basically showing a technique/product to CREATE waves on straight hair with a diffuser. Also his technique turns out pretty flat at the roots. I'd actually really enjoy seeing him use a diffuser on a model/person with real curly hair.

Is it possible to show different hairstyles for men using wavetech? Like beach wave bangs or short wave textured hair. It's harder, in my case, to make some slight waves with shorter hair. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

As a wavy, my ends are dry and my roots to mids are oily. Air drying takes at least an hour, and I have a lot of very fine hair. I've found over the years that I can get more curl out of my hair than my stylists.

Im shocked at how good this looks but the thought of COMBING product into wavy hair is terrifying. How did it not turn out stringy? Has anyone tried this on hair that is actually wavy and not straight Im suspicious lol
reply

I respectfully disagree about miss Manny Quinn's hair being completely straight. I saw I few bends in her hair before scrunching; -. There is such a thing as swavy hair, it's perceived as straight but it's not.
