In my experience as someone with curly hair that is waist length when stretched the revair takes a lot of work out of the process and is fast. Then if you want a smoother blowout you can go over it with a reckon brush or a shark smooth style or Dyson type of tool to smooth it even more and then flat iron it.
The revair works good for other natural hairstyles like if you want to blow out your hair to get braids you won’t need a smooth blowout or a twist out, braid out, flex rod set, etc.
I wish there are a hybrid of something the stretches the hair out as quick and easy as the revair does but also will get it smooth because when you have long curly hair it’s just too difficult to try to do the round brush method on its own you’ll be like 2-3 hrs and tired and arms falling off in pain and it still won’t be right if you have short arms. The man or woman that invents this tool will have all of my coins!

As a white girl, I agree with Brad's assessment that we don't have the best technique when it comes to using flat irons, but I'd like to expand his list to include curling irons, blow dryers, hot rollers, and probably any other tool designed to style hair. It wasn't very long ago that I learned that there are different hairbrush styles for different hair types. I thought we were just brushing out the tangles. and the different brush styles had more to do with aesthetics rather than function.
(In my defense, I have fine, stick straight hair that is very difficult to style. It doesn't hold a curl. It doesn't hold a wave. 99%of all products just weigh it down, but when I forgo using any product, I more often than not end up looking like I stuck my finger in a light socket. Sigh. The struggle is real.

Im from a chi salon. A lot of their products contain caterpillar silk. Its also vegan, cruelty free, and a bunch of other things. Very clean products. A lot of their products are so natural. I started to use silk infusion on my face. Our rep said its so clean. We could. My face is DRY. Seriously my skin is soooo much better now. Its also an amazing silk in general. But its NOT an oil. Its silk. Caterpillar silk. Thats basically all thats in it.
The owner of chi literally has SO MANY farms for this silk. Its in Texas I believe. And chi salons can go visit the farms, for a tour and more break down of the product. I hope to go soon.
Im hoping you put your products in salons soon Brad. My salon ONLY uses CF, vegan, clean products and Id love to use xmondo!

when I used to wear my hair long (just past my shoulders, I stopped blow drying it super straight before silk pressing because I started to notice that there were patches of my hair that lost their curl when I wanted to go back to wearing it curly, especially at the ends.
I think it was because of all that additional heat I was using on my hair; it was causing my curl pattern to become permanently straightened. Also, I noticed that when I blow dried it super straight first, I needed to use more moisturizer and oil sheen spray on it because the ends become really dry and brittle than when I just stretched it first.

Fellow poc with curly hair here, I also loved Chi products when I was trying to get my hair to grow back after years of damage from straightening with a flat iron. I bought their straightener, heat protectant, silk infusion and the shampoo/conditioner. I still use everything except the shampoo/conditioner. It saved my hair and gave me my length back as well. The silk infusion (maybe from the silicone) really helps keep the hair smooth and frizz free. I’ll go to fix my curls on day three or so and after running a bit through my hair after it makes a huge difference. Hope to try your products at some point

I would say the revair I use as a prep for a round brush blow dry. So revair gets it dry within 2 mins each section about 8 sections. It takes the hair from wet to dry quickly with less heat. The biggest thing is less heat with the revair. So revair to dry and stretch and my Dyson round brush more. I would also say she should have used smaller section her hair is thick! And I use ceramic babybliss, I had titanium but it doesn’t last at all for me, as soon as I step outside, ceramic lasts me weeks.

2: 28 what is she doing Keratin A Brazilian blowout I think she’s actually doing a Brazilian blowout with keratin. Also call a Brazilian keratin treatment.
9: 55 that’s the keratin
By the way, you have to pass the flat iron over the keratin to the God 10 times. Then rinse it out. I think she left it in. The flat iron seals the keratin inside the cuticle. But keratin treatments contain formaldehyde so please wash that shit out. The hair will remain straight. Blow dry it again.

When I've gotten Dominican blowouts, they use a round boar bristle brush (the way its supposed to be used) to get the hair as straight and smooth as possible using a lot of tension and heat. It's really hot on the scalp, but the results are worth it. I used to do it at home but it's a lot of arm work and I'm too lazy so I use my revair now. The results are not the same, but it's close enough.

I’m going to have to get that Chi. My 3c hair is 37 inches long so I rarely do silk presses, but Jay has me wanting my hair to look good! I always let my hair dry a bit before blow drying with RevAir and also go over it with my handheld dryer and a brush to really get all of the texture out. It works. Gotta say though, I love the body and color from lady #2.

I am actually flat ironing my hair now while watching this video. For me, I wash, condition, and put in a leave in cream with some oil. Braid it into sections and let it air dry about 70%. So, the hair I am flat ironing is kinda damp. It still comes out nice for me and can last up to two weeks, if I don't wash it or take long hot steamy showers.

Getting my curly hair as straight as possible in the blow drying faze is what I do. The less passes with the straighter for me the better and I can take bigger sections and straighten my whole head faster. But I don’t have super kinky hair more like 3b 3c. Chi is amazing for my hair gets it super silky and less breakage as I straighten.

So beautiful and so satisfying to watch. Don't have the patience for this though lol. Currently my hair is about 33in long too (And so so thick), I can't do anything with it. Taken me 7 years to decide to let someone cut it, nervous, but probably cutting it all off this weekend. Thanks for another wonderful video Brad!

Brad has a point. When I tell my white girlfriends that I don’t patronize salons, they are shocked. I grew up in a family where most of us did our own hair unless we were relaxed. I didn’t go before I started using chemicals so when I stopped using chemicals I stopped going to salons.

First off THANK YOU for getting rid of the pink table. It was cute and I liked the color splash but pink and white brightness were hurting my eyes so much watching videos, it was just so intense. The silver top really helps mellow it out and still give a cool vibe with the shiny metallic!

In my opinion
When you smooth the hair more with the blowdryer you get smoother results with less body (more silk straight) than if you were to just get some of the texture out before you straighten. Just depends on the look you want. Both are methods people choose to use

Silk presses are the Best & most satisfying videos to watch. I learned to straighten hair from Black female mentors & the technique is amazing for keratin treatments on my clients. I used to use Chi back in my scene kid days when we over ironed our hair. My hair loved it!

I have spiral curls, but my strands are kind of fine. My hair is super easy to straighten. I can actually go from wet to straight in 15 mins. I usually do not straighten my hair the same day I wash it though. This was cool to watch. All curly hair is not the same.

I used to not blow dry first because I was trying to limit heat and the flat iron does most of the work. Now that blow dry brushes are invented, I prefer to get my hair as smooth as possible with the blow dryer because the flat iron process goes so much faster.
