Hey hi. Brad. I was wondering. I have been using aloxxi chroma 8nn on my hair past 3 years when redoing growth I try and avoid the mids and ends. . My natural growth color at root is between 6/ 7. I dont use bleach but I have done scattered strands at mids and ends in semi permanent ion colors in bugandy brown and medium warm brown behind ears down length for fun. I just redid roots but this time they were about 3 inches long. With some gray hair. First issue. I can't figure out what type gray I'm gonna be. It looks mousey but not really gray. Second issue. Can j get the orange out if thre 8nn affect by using the ions overall as a toner And what color would result 20 volume lifts my natural color without bleach. Not sure if I should reverse color highlights dark till I go the old lady vwhaever color gray I'm going to be again in 3 more months. Lol what would you suggest. And could I use a Brad mondo semi permanent colorover 8nn I love light browns dark blonde tones. Right now my hsir is 8 level some strands sre 8 to 10 from sun right now. Thanks very much.

Lauren here from the 31: 05 video clip!
1. Was laughing so much at your reaction, can confirm I am an IDIOT when it comes to hair & after this I will never self-bleach my hair again.
2. Filmed that video 2 years ago & can confirm that 2 years later I am STILL working on fixing the damage. I did eventually bleach it again off camera a week or so later & it looked a lot better. BUT it literally all became straw and then broke off months later & so the under layer of my hair was shorter then the rest of my hair for a very long time. Happy to say its finally almost all grown out & my hair is a lot healthier & happier now that I’m not doing it myself anymore. 1 out of 10, would not recommend, will never do again.

I did a triple process the other day. Bought box dye that claimed to be toner (sorry Brad Mondo. Had already bleached twice already. It was yellow at the top and blue green at the bottom. I used a colour called 'radiant pearl' and it's a bit of a weird result but at least I've cancelled out the yellow i guess and my hair didn't fall out. Think I'm going to trim it some more to get rid of a bit more of the blue/green that's left over from having purple hair. I should have probably gone to sallys and bought two different shades of toner. Nvm. I got tired of having my bright colours fading out all the time and wanted to have something a bit more normal.

On a road trip this weekend my friend asked me (retired hairstylist) what could possibly be so difficult about lightening your own hair that it could require an entire video series of reactions. My answer was long BUT I said that I think it's because bleach is SUCH a clumsy and unforgiving substance in general! It's like this puffy powdery batter that's too dry to lather and too wet to trust it not to bleed through a misplaced foil, it's immediately working against you because of time, and that's before you even talk about the integrity of someone's hair. Bleach itself is such an ANNOYING substance!

I used to do my own hair for 20 years. And a few months ago i was just like its too much, i really cant be bothered and I have a great hairdresser so i trust her, and wow, the price was more than fair and she just did the most beautiful foils in like 3 minutes, my hair has never looked better and im never doing it myself again. The price is for so many things. going to school for this, knowledge, know how, products, time. I love my hairdresser so much and i tell her! Oh and when we agree on a style, she gives me great advice and i actually get what i ask for.

I think prepping for bleaching with textured hair is important!
I'll clarify and use leave in only straightened it with a trim if needed then wait a few days for my oil to gather then start lighting.
That way it's so much easier to apply and grab smaller sections. I always use foil it takes practice but worth it once u get it down.
My hair is wavey curly so the best tip I could give is straightened and prep. totally worth it. Props to the girls who lighten hair with curls bc saturation and clean work is more difficult than straight hair

Looking at all the products they buy to dye at home I can't help thinking that their overall price eventually can add up to approximately match the price of doing it at your local salon but excluding loads of time, sweat and tears. Though I'm not into the prices so you can easily prove me wrong.
But as I understand, these videos just have an entirely different purpose.

I 100% love the final one. It suits her really well, in my opinion. I feel like the first lady's hair is too stringy for my liking. The second lady, I do think the orange-blonde suited her much better than the ash look. But hey, it's their hair and they seem to like the results, so all the power to them: D

Brad! Any tips on covering greys at home My mom is a hairstylist but she be getting BIG MAD at me hitting her up literally every two weeks to do my roots. lmao she told me she’d give me the color and all of the ish to do myself but it seems so complicated. Would any of your products work for that

The second one has a good starting point - the curls still being intact is practically a miracle. She could have some fun with a semipermanent.
The third - if you're aiming for the undercut look it needed to be a straight line. That would have made the various colors maybe work for her.

Repeat after me: Bleach mids and ends first until BRIGHT yellow then bleach roots. Brad’s tired of saying this ya’ll
Ohh! Also don’t get your toner until after you’re done bleaching or you’re most likely going to waste your time and money.
Hope this helps

I'm going to be honest and say I really liked the last one the best! the process wasn't great but I kinda liked that there was still purple on her ends, to my untrained eye it looked like she intentionally added that purple after bleaching.

You know, when Lauren failed the bleach and it was red at the bottom. I think if she left it, she could've pulled off a cool sunset color, the roots could be purple and just blend it into the red! aaaahhh

I bet you were screaming to my technique
I bleach a lot of years, my hair, on my own. I'm middle/dark brow naturally. I make a bleachbath and apply it like shampoo, but i let it in for 45 minutes

Why people do this, the first girl look nice with the first kinda pink color, but not has to be blonde and like brad said they are no happy until their hair falls, just go straight to an expert
