How amazing! I have naturally curly, frizzy hair that I often let grow to my waist before I cut to the top of my bra strap again. I love my long hair, but I’m getting way too old and my hair is way too thin in the front for it anymore (a side effect of a medication I’d once been on. The last time I’d gotten it cut, my normal stylist was still out on maternity leave, but I desperately needed a cut. The girl cut it much shorter than I wanted and in the past 6 months, it’s only grown an inch or two when it normally grows way faster and should be much longer. I was having other issues as well before the cut and learned I had a thyroid issue around the time I got it cut. I had no idea it would affect the growth so much I miss my hair growing and it’s falling out a lot more now And I’m upset with the stylist for going way too short. I already had anxiety about stylists after a bad experience where one gave me a horrible cut and screwed up my color so bad I had to walk around with splotchy hair for 3 months (thank god it was a cold winter and hats are a thing) before going to another stylist to fix it. It was so bad, she had to double process my already dry, damaged hair to fix it before dying it and by the time I let the purple and my hair grow out, the ends were like straw. I waited a very long time with that dead hair before getting a cut just so I could tell the stylist (my current one) to lop all the dead stuff off. I was so anxious when I went, I nearly puked. I explained what happened (and the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I’d spent in just a few months) and she listened to every word and was so understanding of my anxiety. She gave me such an amazing cut and she’s just the sweetest. So yeah, totally different when you mess it up for free and have no one to blame but yourself. But when you spend hundreds of dollars, question your stylist as they’re doing your hair because you KNOW they’re making mistakes and they snootily tell you they’re not, you see the end result of a lawnmower haircut and splotchy dye job and she has the BALLS to ask for a tip when you pay I’ve got a tip, get a different fking job because you SUCK at this one I almost said it that day, I was so mad It’s things like that that make you not trust stylists.

For the second girl, I feel the fear of hairdressers. I had a BAD experience with a fairly famous hairdresser, I will keep the name to myself. GRANTED he had come to a cosmetology school and was having the students cut/color loads of peoples hair. He gave each stylist the prompt of what to do for per person, and I wasn't the only one that got screwed over by this experience. The poor woman next to me was also in tears in the chair and came back the next day to be fixed. Unfortunately, both her hair and mine were too short to be fixed. He also REFUSED to listen to our cries for something different and our stylists felt horrible but he wouldn't let them change what he told them. This was back in 2012 and I haven't gone to a hairdresser since. Ive had friends/family cut/color my hair, but haven't done anything to it in at least 3-4 years.

Re: my XMondo color gloss treatment. I’ve used dark demi-permanent color on my natural hair that’s like a warm 5 for a while. I’ve been wanting to stop using stuff with a developer and just let my natural hair grow. The regrowth was about 3 inches but you could see where my hair went from a warm brown to a faded black/brown. I slapped on some of the 5N glossing treatment to the regrowth and regular clear to the rest and it really blended things well. I was impressed to see how well it melted together. My roots are still lighter than the lengths but i expect that. It’s just nice having it less noticeable. I’ll definitely be using the 5N glossing treatment when I need to refresh my regrowth without developer. I was very happy with the result!

Dear Brad, you said you wanted product stories so here's one - I've been using literally everything I could get my hands on to try and tame my frizzy, out of control hair into the curls that were under it SOMEWHERE. When you introduced Wavetech I figured what the hell I'll give that a shot. Literally the first day I used the foam was the first day in YEARS that my hair not only behaved itself, but I got COMPLIMENTS on it. I have since picked up bits and pieces from the entire Wavetech line and my hair has never looked better - and the scent is amazing too! .now when are you coming out with red glosses please and thank you

Real talk, I have never had a pleasant salon experience. No stylist ever paid me a compliment. Just comments about my hairs health. No tips or help, just criticism. I once messed up my bangs and the stylist took pictures and called over the other employees to laugh at me.
Then i accompanied my best friend to get her hair cut at the same salon I went to. my mind was blown with how kind they were to her, complimentary, egaging in conversation.
Once I saw the difference i stopped going to salons. I'm never again paying a person to make me feel bad about myself. This occupation celebrates cruelty.

Binge watching Brad when you are bored with your hair is risky, Lol. I have virgin, mostly straight, layered hair, mid to lower back length. I live in my ponytail. I don't even own a curling or straightening iron. I need inspo for a cut that doesn't require styling, lol. I have tried to donate hair several times, but every time the professional usually forgets and they start chopping without any hair ties in and it all ends up on the floor. Usually about 15 inches worth. When I notice the first chop and say something, it's like oops, I forgot, can't do anything about it now then just keep cutting.

I have hair as long as if not longer than the redhead in the video. I cut mine all the time to keep it healthy. And I do lots of different styles. If u have long hair it's good to know how to do many different things with it so it's not just on ur head I have had short hair before and hated it for myself. The ONLY way I'd cut mine again. Is if Brad did it! my daughters both have long hair too. I wish Brad was local & he'd have 3 women with TOMS of hair to have fun with! I cut hair for many years but unfortunately arthritis has set in.

A few years ago, I grew my hair out for 5yrs. My hair is thick and curly, the day I decided to get it cut, it reached just below my waist, curly. Straight it was past my butt, thankfully my hairdresser refused to cut it shorter in one hit. She thought that I would regret it and be unhappy with my choice. We compromised at having 18 inches off that day. A couple of weeks later I had another 18 inches cut off and my hair was still below my shoulders. These days, y hair is collar length and easier to wear.

9: 31 Donating hair is huge if you can. My hair grows really fast and I’ve donated 4 times in my life. The last time I think was 18 inches. This was the first time I decided to bleach and colour my hair so I unfortunately can’t donate it this time. I have to cut my hair soon and it’s gonna be really heartbreaking to see all that hair go to waste. Though I figure I’ve done it 4 times I deserve to do some fun stuff with my hair and I can always donate it again once the colour is all grown out

I agree with her - if I mess up my own hair, I'll be mad at myself, sure. From experience, it's so much worse feeling angry at someone else who is supposed to know what they're doing lol I have had a hairdresser who I trusted, those are worth their weight in gold, but I moved. I trusted one person since then and they effed my hair up so badly, I haven't trusted anyone since (now I cut my own hair, my son's, my husband's, my mom's, and my cousin's! lol)

2021 I had hair down to my hips. It is extremely thick so I had it cut off into a pixie. The beautician was more nervous then me. The first cut I started to tear up not from sadness but relief. I hadn't realized how much weight was on my head. It has helped with my chronic migraines. I have a mushroom kind of top and love it. Also it now being real sort means I can dye it crazy colors since I have to cut it every 6 wks since my hair grows like weeds.

I swear some of us have hair that does not like to be parted. Mine just will not go to the other side of the part. When I cut my hair I run my finger through my hair to part it instead of a comb. The line is a bit wavy but that is where my hair wants to go. In the end a precision straight part doesn't matter with a butterfly cut especially on curly hair. (Yes I've tried parting on various stages of wetness, same result)

My hair was down to the small of my back when my son was about 7 months old. He had a lovely habit of wrapping my hair in his tiny little baby fist, and yanking with all his baby might (babies are strong af, ftr, in any direction he pleased. Twas quite painful. I chopped my hair into a bob with not a single tear from me, but my SIL asked me if I was nuts and cried for my hair lol. Felt great though.

As far as xmondo dyes go, I mix my own colors to dye my hair rainbow all the time and I gotta say the yellow and orange dyes are so killer. I struggled for sooo long trying to find vibrant reliable warm tones that weren't like. a copper orange. Also the product itself sticks in my hair like a dream so I have no color bleeding when I'm doing complex color setups.

Hi Brad i love watching your videos and I am actually thinking about purchasing your golden brown super gloss. My hair is pretty thick, it's natural and it's got a lot of split ends and it's damaged from the heat of the straightener. So I can't wait to see how my hair looks after your super gloss if you have any other recommendations I would love to know

My theory as to why it's always the girls with the thickest most beautiful hair doing these things: They don't have to hang on to their hair as much as someone who has thinner, probably more slow growing hair or problems with hair loss. If they mess it up it's probably regrowing fast. They don't know how hard it is to grow out your hair if it is thin.

Hi. I’ve had long hair my entire life and I went to get my hair cut to my chin a week ago. I asked for it to my chin with layers. she continued to do it shorter than the chin and she gave layers, BUT ONLY TO ONE SIDE OF MY HAIR. THE OTHER SIDE IS COMPLETELY WITHOUT LAYERS. I AM IN DISTRESS. I AM ALREADY SUPER UGLY, THIS JUST ADDS TO MY UGLINESS

I cut my hair pixie short when I was 18. I struggled so hard to grow it back. I'm 41 now, and finally, it's long, probably longer than I had it when I was 18. I only go in to get the dead ends cut because I'm too afraid to get any type of style or layers or anything done to it because it was such a struggle to grow long.
