Brad, I have been watching you for years. I have watched each video at a minimum of two times, I’ve never commented but it’s now time. I’m a licensed cosmetologist however I don’t practice in a salon since I got into the medical field however hair and nails will always be my heart.
I work with grieving families and we go through a lot of training on how to say things with being direct but also empathetic to culture, situation, and of course just the bigger picture of not knowing what someone else is going through.
I say all this to say that Brad you have always authentically been yourself. Honest but fragile with your words. You don’t bring people down. I can see you make sure to watch what you say so that you don’t offend anyone and that means and says a lot about you and your character. Also one of the videos with you and your brother really made me want to give your parents a round of applause, they taught you all to love yourself as you are and love and accept others as they are. As hairdressers you also become a therapist (we learn a lot of secrets from our clients) and the judgment just can’t be there and I definitely see you don’t judge you educate and give an educated opinion.
I know this is long but I just want you to know how many lives you have touched with just being you and watching your success has been a blessing I’ve learned so much from you and I will always do my own hair because of you. You give us something to laugh about and learn so you’re an amazing teacher as well.
Keep up the great work you do for the world and us who love you!
PS thank you for the supernova reparative mask and the super gloss, I’m biracial so have mixed hair I’m currently blonde and these products are the best, my curls are still intact and my hair feels amazing.
Thank you Brad for being you!
My emotional internet rant is over lol.
WE LOVE YOU BRAD!

With afro 4c hair, it's usually recommended to cut it dry because our hair shrinks up so much that it's hard to have a precise cut. And you often end up taking more off than needed to make it even. I've never cut my hair wet and even when I was learning hairdressing at college, black hair was the only hair that we were told to cut dry. The least that can be done is cutting after a blow dry but if you want a precise cut, then straighten the hair too.
Unfortunately one of the only things they taught us about black hair. I'm just glad I knew most of what I was taught before I even started.
Update: Glad he clarified it straight after, so hopefully this helps anyone who didn't know. The first girl is stunning btw but I think reason she didn't consider water is when you're so used to having curly hair most of your life, you forget to consider it went it's permanently straight lol. Because I had the issue of when I had a relaxer I didn't need water to style it whereas with my natural hair now, I do (and have to keep reminding myself that water is now an option) which make it easier to manage and brings out the curls. Bless her she looks like an old family friend, just more edgy hehe. X

23: 23 tell me why I decided to cut my hair the same way as her about 5-6 months ago now, and I chose to watch her video only and I watched it 2-3 times and then I just did it- keep in mind I’ve never had my hair- thisss short I mean I’ve had to my shoulders, but that’s the shortest but I actually did it! And it looks amazing now, but at first I definitely was freaking out and kept saying trust the process but now that your watching this video in this type of video it scares me and makes me know I actually did a good job even tho I didn’t even follow a good video

Omg, I had the 90's blue/black pixie cut from 93' until 96', so I was 14-16 yo. I'll tell yu, every time I went to a different hairdresser to get it recut and dyed, it came out completely different, sometimes the bangs were longer, sometimes the bangs were super short. I loved doing the pieces around my face to kinda frame it and when it was left to long, it looked like I had an octopus sitting over the back of my head and it's tentacles were hugging the side and forehead of my face. It's a tricky cut especially if you have curly hair like me and this girl.

Idunno about her hair specifically, but I can never cut my hair wet. It would dry and then be a completely different shape. I cut my hair dry so I can actually see how it looks while I am cutting it. Its fine for hairdressers to cut the hair wet cuz they know what it will look like without seeing it. How I don't ruin my hair cutting my own bangs every month is by cutting it dry and being careful to not do that thing where you lift up the hair while you cut

I used to have pointed bangs like 15 years ago. When I look back at the pictures I took back then, I have absolutely NO idea how I managed to get them so perfectly straight. I could never now I cut my 2 youngest kids hair, but I myself have been sporting long black hair for years and I'm fine with that unless my grey hair starts showing. I love grey hair, but grey roots with black hair is not the tea sis

The least first girl could've done is use sharp scissors for the first cut. She had to saw her dang hair with those scissors lol.
Edit: why did she use an electric shaver tho
Edit 2: omg I use that same hair wax! I never use it directly on my hair because it makes my hair stiff lol. I have to rub the product on my hands, rub my hands together then apply it to my bangs.

Someone, when I was in hair school, wanted me to make her fringe stick straight out somehow, but I wasn’t allowed to use any products. She also didn’t want me to touch her hair with my fingers. She also pronounced her home town (Birmingham, UK) as Bubbanuh. They switched me out with another stylist, and he came to me after the client left and said, That lady was high as FCK!

10: 45 BradMondo - She is talking about a video with another hairdresser where he after cutting the bangs once, pulls it further up, then twists it again to make layers that will fix flat bangs. She obviously forgot how far up he went Anyways, that is what she tried to do So it wasn’t your video. I just can’t remember what he is called. He is a middle aged guy.

39: 11 She looks so 1920s! like a Freedom loving flapper girl cutting her hair because it’s the rebellious thing to do. I half expected her to say excuse me while I Charleston’ then make us wait while she does a little dance. She just needs a pretty headband and a long string of pearls.

i think the video shes talking about in the first clip is from a teacher in a classroom who shows how by cutting offwhat looks like a large portion of these girls already-short bangs, hes able to make them lay flatter and prettier without losing any length, and it looks like a magic trick.

like don’t get me wrong i’ve cut my hair questionably as a teenager but looking back it really wasn’t that bad but i cut my fringe now (im 25 soon) & i just can’t comprehend how we still be out here making repeating mistakes like there is so much video proof of what not to do

I've got the same hair curl than the last girl and if there's something I know it's that curly hair it's VERY forgivable when messing up the haircut (to a certain extent obv) and that's why she managed to rock that hairstyle. Applause to her because that's a hell of a change!
reply

Can someone answer me this Every hairdresser I've ever been to in my 53 years has always cut my fringe (bangs) after the hair has dried as the water weighs it down and it can shrink upwards. So why does Brad say to wet it first Editing to add that my hair is virtually pin straight.
reply

Brad she's black with 4c hair our hair does not lay like that of 4a or Caucasoid hair lol. our hair done would say defies gravity. And her hair is straightened when it wet it will curl up. I use to think hairdressers were versed in all hair types but it seems I was mistaken
reply

The first lady needs to learn how to dry her hair for a haircut.
I don't agree with wetting her hair. I worked on a lot of textured hair in my day.
Edit: wash your hair. Dry it with a hot blow dryer & fine tooth comb flat to your skin on your forehead.

last girl was me like 3 months ago, lmao went from Rapunzel to Pixie. I fixed my hair as a short bob so I could go to the hair dresser's for the pixie though. Cause i wanted it SHORTER and SHORTER and I'm so happy with it. it suits her SO WELL too! Love pixies
reply

Omg the I love the last girl! Her attitude is amazing and her hair came out so cute, doesn’t need to be perfect, as long as you feel beautiful that’s what matters! Btw love u Brad, been watching ur videos for a while now and u always make me smile

I am 61 years old. A few days ago I gave myself the butterfly haircut. Thank you Brad for your tutorials. I did a perfect job and it's so beautiful.
My hair was down to my hips. Now it's about 4 inches shorter and has beautiful layering.
