Today Im going to be creating an extension on natural nails without cutting the nail. Im going to start with by prepping the nails and then use Natural Beige to Overlay the nails. Im then going to fit the form Ive already cut into shape to the thumb and pinch the nails. Ill then file the nails down a little bit. Im then going to fit the form to all the nails and add a bit of length to the nails. File if you need to. As you can see, the nails are straightened and the c-curves have been corrected to the nails are now ready for gel polish or nail varnish or lacquer

I am so happy you did this video, because my nails are practically the same as Izzy's. My thumbs and index finger nails have wonky hyponychium plus my index finger and middle finger nails don't grow out straight either. It's like looking at my own nails watching this video, lol. Although I think mine are a little worse than Izzy's. Really informative video Kirsty. It's given me a lot to think about when I do my own nails next. Just one question though, is it possible to pinch a wonky natural nail if I'm using acrygel like you did there with the acrylic, before adding length? Thank you so much for sharing. Lee x

Great information Kirsty. What would you recommend putting over long natural nails that have become thin after wearing acrylics. I would like to give my nails a break but keep my length, just make them stronger with something that would cause the least damage. Would acrylic, gel, or fiberglass overlay be the best. I would also like to know if you can use any overlay without having to file your natural nail. I know filing helps keep the overlay from lifting, but is it at all possible. Thank you.

Omg I was binge watching nail designs to pick one that doesn't poke my 3 month old, AND wouldn't look extra big and crooked on my middle finger. It's flat on one side and leaning to the right. My thumb nails are weird too. One's flat with a square shape, the other is wide and oval shaped. I can usually get away with squoval(my fave) but it's getting in the way with mommy care. Would anybody suggest a nail shape to avoid nicking my baby? Short length or medium?

Both my index finger nails begin to do a sideways curve when they get too long. My mom's do it slightly, and she said her mother's curved a little worse than mine I've never worn acrylics or extensions so I just sort of file them down until the curve is way less noticeable (which makes me sad because I want them long, but I could see how that isn't helpful in this situation. Those nails are going to look amazing with some color or design

This is a main reason why I grow my natural nails long and then cut them off at some point - they always grow kind of weird, my thumb always looks down and the middle finger nail isn't looking straight, but looking to the left side. As a perfectionist I can't stand that they're not perfect and symmetrical. But I don't really get why all of the hard work, isn't it easier to cut off her nails and build completely new acrylics?

I have a couple of nails where the c-curve is more dramatic on one side than the other. It drives me mad I also have naturally high c-curves and as a result, I can't have square nails they always have rounded corners. It's a love-hate relationship with my natural nails, I love that I can grow naturally long nails but hate the natural shape of the damn things. The overlay technique you show here is awesome

Kirsty, PLEASE please please could you do some extensions on spoon nails or maybe just rectifying them. I have a client who has them and she only wants her nails to go to the the tip of her finger, filling and putting an apex in on such a short nail with a spoon is soooo difficult

loved this. I have a wonkey nail on a finger i broke. I had acrylics once before I went on a course for them. The girl followed the direction of my nail and it made me think that I was doing the wrong thing when I used to file it to make it look straight

I have broke my middle finger on both of my hands so. they are twisted to one side and crooked to the point when my fingers are extended straight out. My ring finger and pointer finger don't even touch my middle finger. They are a bit wonky shall I say
