The problem is that the food industry tries to villify one ingredient, then that makes all the other chemicals they use ok. I agree French Fries fried in any kind of fat will be bad for you. This is because of how your body chemistry works. If you eat starch which converts to sugar in the body along with fat (Tallow in this case, then you will get an insulin spike from the potatos, energy from the carbs in the potatos, and the fat will mostly get saved in your body in the form of fat for later, because your body has plenty of calories raising cholesterol and all the ill effects of excess fat in your body. If you separate eating Carbs with low fat, or Fat with low carbs, you avoid this body chemistry disaster in your body. Conversly, if you cook a steak in beef tallow, you don't get an insulin spike and your body uses the fat for energy and you don't have as many ill effects. You'll have nutrition fan boys that will argue the Carb diet vs the Fat diet and ignore how your body chemistry works. I do think eating less processed food with few ingridents like onion, tomato, beef, poultry, potato (all one ingredient) are better than eating packaged producst with a list of chemicals as long as your arm. And finally, there are a lot of agressive Vegans by the way too. Don't be too quick to pick on one side.

You can’t ignore thousands of years of people not eating seed oils and eating plenty of animal fats. Also can’t ignore all those people on carnivore diets with insanely healthy blood work and young metabolic age. There are precisely zero people who are long term healthy vegans who do not heavily supplement with synthetic vitamins and minerals.
Non-fruit vegetables aren’t bad, but they are highly overrated by the global scientific establishment. There are financial incentives on both sides of this, but you’re naive if you think they’re comparable. Governments in the west have cracked down hard on animal farmers in ways they do not with crop farmers. This ties in with the climate change topic where they urge people to eat more plants and fewer animals for the planet while ignoring the fact that regeneratively pasture-raised grass-fed cows are carbon neutral. Every carbon atom can be accounted for in that process.

Beef fat and butter is healthier. There's no question about that!
I was always sick on seed oils and i wasn't even 20 years old. I'm pretty sure it's not normal for someone at the age of 17 to have arthritis and half-inch lipomas on their main neural pathways.
Now that ditched all that crap and i eat mostly animal products, butter, fat, absolutely no plant oils (with the exception of extra virgin olive oil, I'm back healthy again!
Now i can feel like my age again, can walk stairs, carry backpacks, lift heavy weight, sit in a shallow car seat, or even on the ground - non of which i could do before.
So that's just my testimony, but I'm not the only one saying the same thing.
Oh, and my teeth cavities also disappeared, and constant ear inflamation caused by any slight breeze is gone too btw.

If you are pulling scientific info from the nut job scientists that say gender is a spectrum and boys can be girls and girls can be boys and the ones that claimed the C19 shot was safe, then its not worth the paper it is written on. Scientists have lost all credibility and cant be trusted as they are all bought and paid for from companies like Phillip Morris.
Beef Tallow aka beef fat is less processed especially if you melt it down yourself. Our ancestors used all of an animal including the fat and they were not obese like people are today. It is indeed a healthier cooking fat than seed oils. however your main point of frying fries in them as a restaurant would do. I would not do that as they change oil in fryers maybe once a week to once every couple weeks. However for home use, go for it.

Building walkable cities would be cheaper on the long run. It would take encouraging new constructions where the bottom level is for commercial use, and you have many levels above for residential use, changing streets and roads to allow for groups of people to pass on the sides, bicycles kept on their own lane, pedestrian crossings physically narrowed to force the drivers to pay more attention to the pedestrians trying to cross, and discouraging single level/household residential projects, megastores, and malls. The result would be far more tax revenue per area, less accidents, fitter people, less pollution, and what is spent would more likely stay in the community, and not go to billionaires, and the suburbs (the net consumers of the urban resources, subsidized by the downtown parts.

The US health crisis is more of a regulation and food quality problem than a poor people problem like you claim. Every single developed country in the world is significantly healthier than the US, while most of them are a lot poorer and live similar sedentary lifestyles. Blaming it on the healthcare industry and 'it's cheaper for the government' is lazy and not even accurate. This obesity problem costs the government more money than anything. People still make the choice to eat unhealthy and not exercise. Including the poor, middle class, and the rich. A significant part of the problem can be solved at the consumer level, instead of intellectualizing it as some sort of class struggle.

There’s a pubmed study by Tetsumori Yamashima (a Japanese neurosurgeon) which shows that cooking hydrogenated vegetable oils and PUFAs (aka seed oils like vegetable oil, canola oil, soybean oil, etc) produce 4-HNE (hydroxynenanol. This study further shows that this aldehyde causes lysosomal cell death and damages DNA, and is linked to a lot of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. I’ll link the study for anyone who wants it.
I agree that cooking in beef tallow may not be suitable for everyone depending on what their diet consists of but there’s clearly much better cooking fats to use (olive oil and avocado oil.

CS Lewis pointed out something interesting in _The Screwtape Letters. _ He didn't just define gluttony as eating too much, he also defined it as eating extravagant foods often, and being picky and prideful about foods and restaurants. You think about ancient times, and outside of feast days people ate really plain and simple food. Fasting was also a common practice. Extravagant meals were for special days, not every day. And that's even with the incredible amount of exercise they were forced to get every day. I'm sure just being more thoughtful about _why_ we're eating what we're eating would be far more helpful than the oil crap.

Not arguing the merits here. Just that Adam talks to his listeners in an Elitist attitude that stinks of universities. The liberal bias and distain for Trump supporters can no longer be hidden from. The smug pot shots to conservatives who voted for Trump over his choice, likely Kamala. It would better if you stuck to the facts without the vitriol. Adam, you can hate Trump and his policies and RFK as well. But when your distain also goes to the voters or supporters it’s makes you look ugly. To your they are all a bunch of cave men watching Joe Rogan with no brains. They God they have you to lecture to them.

This video argues that beef tallow is not a healthier alternative to seed oils for most people. While beef tallow has some vitamins and can be used for high-heat cooking, it is high in saturated fat, which is linked to cardiovascular disease. The video also discusses the history of McDonald's using beef tallow for their fries and the current trend of promoting beef tallow, suggesting it may be linked to a desire to appear more manly. The video concludes that focusing on a single ingredient is less important for health than overall diet, exercise, and addressing broader societal issues that impact health.

The thing that always gets me about the whole man-o-sphere obsession with consuming animal products for health is that those same men will often decry soy, call people soy boy, etc. because of unsubstantiated claims that eating soy feminizes men due to some small phytoestrogen content. meanwhile they're enthusiastically chugging breast milk from female cows full of ACTUAL animal estrogens and other hormones. Or they'll freak out about seed oils possibly raising your risk of cancer while eating tons of red meat cooked using charcoal or wood or natural gas, which are all KNOWN carcinogens.

So the only real takeaway from this is that smothering your diet in excess fat is bad for you but one tastes better and just comes from your other food.
Also some internet whackos say your lunch is gender affirming care (It switches to a bad thing when you do it) and fascism (schizo babble, take your meds and go outside) backed up by the same group of people that said The evil megacorporations definitely couldn't poison you for stratospheric profits this time those other times that evil megacorporations poisoned people for stratospheric profits. I'm sure reddit will love it.

So, all we got from this is that you just don’t like RFK’s effort because of your personal gripes. Your objections to the production of animal products are true but you can find issues in almost all corners of food production/processing so that’s just cherry picking in order to help us feel your opinion. All we can do is take one step at a time towards a healthier country. Being conscious of what’s in your food usually leads to a chain effect of eventually making better choices like watching your caloric intake (which seems to be the main issue with tallow)

As a tallow user for multiple years now I recently got shocking bloodwork done tracking my health. To put into perspective I will typically have 400-500 calories of carbs/sugars a day, and around 12oz of meat, a cup of milk, and all the extra cheeses/cream products that might be used in cooking. I'm also overweight and indulge in alcohol and cigarettes often enough. My blood work came back with trigyclercides/hdl being below zero and my L-LDL being big and fluffy with both of those being much stronger indicators of cardiovascular health and longevity.

I hate that I was shocked that people now decided beef fat was healthy. I was wondering where Seed oils are the root of all evil was going and I can’t say I expected the answer to be so let’s eat more cow based saturated fats! Mostly because beef is so goddamned expensive. I have to give up meat just because can barely afford it anymore.
Are my taxes paying for more beef industry subsidies so this healthy beef tallow will be cheaper for consumers I doubt it because no one in this administration seems to think about anything very seriously.

My parents are part of the generation that really bought into (and still do) fad diets and exercise plans. They always complain about the obesity epidemic and how lazy people are.
Then I remembered one day they came to visit me in my college town, and I was going to take them for a cup of coffee at a place less than a mile down the road. The both thought I was crazy for wanting to walk there. using the side walk. We wound up driving there. They still couldn't understand how I was losing weight when I was away at college lol

The BMJ and The Lancet show no change or lower risk of cardiovascular disease or strokes. There is no reason why anyone would want to die on the hill of machine processed seed oils are better for you than animal fats. This is such a weird thing to do just because you have a difference of politics, ChatGPT can literally spit out a list of studies for you for both sides. You would've thought someone who lifts wouldn't be this cringe, but oh well. Go do more deadlifts.

so many half truths. or just straight lies.
-trans fat is not banned its regulated so you can only have so much in food, and doesnt even need putting on the nutrition label in america if it is below 1% of the kcals.
-yes all micro and macros can be gotten for animal sources inuits ate a diet of only fish and whale.
-tiny ammounts of substances can cause problems, as low as 1 part per billion of PFAS in water will have effects in the body.

I just really appreciate your explanation of the socioeconomic nature of food. The classist argument that people would be healthier if they just ate expensive fresh unprocessed foods and so they only have themselves to blame is so damaging and ingrained into our society. We need a processed food tax the same as we need an effective carbon tax, and we need to do something about the incredible cost of good effective healthcare.
Thanks, Adam!

uuuugh i was right there with you until you say we're getting more healthcare today that's why it cost more. That doesn't explain why it cost more here. It doesn't explain why it cost more for the same type of procedures (births) than it did adjusted for inflation 3 decades ago. It doesn't explain why there's a biggest rate of inflation in modern history solely resides in housing, education, and healthcare almost solely.
