Recipe: Broiled Chocolate Chip Cookies

Broiled Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe: Two sticks salted butter Two cups sugar Tablespoon molasses Two eggs Tablespoon vanilla extract Two teaspoons salt Teaspoon baking soda Two-and-a-half cups bread flour 12-ounce bag chocolate chips Melt the butter completely before mixing in the sugar, molasses, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Mix in the baking soda and two cups of the flour. Add more flour until dough appears wet but is not terribly sticky. Refrigerate dough for at least 30 min. Pre-heat oven to 375 Fahrenheit. Form the chilled dough into balls the size of golf balls. Smash them into the shapes of hockey pucks and place them on parchment-lined baking sheets. This should yield about 18 big cookies, spread across three pans. Turn on the broiler and broil the tops of the cookies, one pan at a time on a high rack, until golden. Return the oven to 375 on its baking mode, allow the broiler to cool for a moment, then bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes

I brown my butter. So I just put my butter in a saucepan and boil it until the milk fats separate and toast and turn golden brown. It adds a nice toasty golden warmth to the cookies and is one hack that I will hang onto for almost any baked good

One time I accidentally put in too much sugar into my cookie recipe and I made this chocolate chip cookie brittle thing and it was pretty good you just gotta bake for a short amount of time or else you get these burnt frisbees

I've done this before, I have also pan fried cookies in a cast iron skillet, I have even deep fried them lol. I am A fan of this method tho the most only real diffrence is I let my cookie dough rest for atleast 24 hours

When I make cookies, even this recipe, the cookie dough seems too thin and the cookies are to cake like. The only thing I changed was the flour, I only had all purpose. Do you know why this happens and how to fix it.

Isn't this like saying, I make a mean steak. buys rare steak from restaurant then proceeds to cook it at home to medium rare Broil only please. Title was deceiving as you had to bake it. Still great though.

Thanks Adam I made these cookies for a Fourth of July party and they were a huge hit. I made these cookies a couple times now and Im starting to see the improvement in my skill.

I always do a mix of semi or bitter sweet chocolate chips and some sweeter milk chocolate chips together in my cookies to add some contrasting flavors to the chocolate.

Adam quick trick I like to use. Slightly slamming the pan on a countertop after taking cookies out helps the air escape faster and cuts cooling time
