Alright, look. We're warning you now. Don't mix Mentos and Coke at home unless you want to spend way too long cleaning up afterwards. Anyway, making Mentos should be just like making Skittles, right? So this shouldn't take too long. hmm. Join Claire Saffitz in the Bon Apptit Test Kitchen as she makes gourmet Mentos. MorlunKnight: Mentos are actually wrong about why it makes soda fizz, partly. While the major part of the reaction is the nucleation points on the candy, Mythbusters proved that the ingredients of both Mentos and Diet Coke do have a reaction that adds to to the overall reaction. If the ingredients didn't have the reaction they have then the nucleation points on the Mentos would not be as active in making bubbles. Edit: The reason they didn't have a good of a reaction as planned is because they were using the smooth mint Mentos, it took so many to get a big reaction for that reason, one or 2 fruit Mentos which is pocked and has nucleation points would have caused the second reaction the first time

im so sorry, i love this series as does everyone; but as part of your viewing body i have one very strong suggestion/constructive piece of criticism. everyone loves and wants that p, but please, please bon appetit take these videos back down to being good quality 20 minute long content. no one wants to watch a video which is longer but lower quality. lets take them back to what they were when they were at their optimum success. thank you so much. regards, a keen and happy viewer x

Man im kinda done watching these cause claire gets sp debby downer, dismisses others ideas all the time then runs to them all for help and is happy when she gets it right(even tho its always someone else that figures it out)

I did get worried about Claire when I saw how long the episode is, but then they spent like 10 minutes on putting mentos in coke and also sliding them across the table, so I think I am less worried now

okay I just started watching, but I think that the test to see whether it worked should be throwing the mentos in a bottle of coke instead of tasting it. just saying. edit: YES
