Join Claire Saffitz, Brad Leone, Chris Morocco, Sohla El-Waylly, Carla Lalli Music, Priya Krishna, Molly Baz and Amiel Stanek at home 8 different kinds of grilled cheese sandwich. You really can't go wrong with a grilled cheese, whether it's a classic diner style one or a sardine-stuffed one courtesy of Amiel. sailingsolar: Claire is being a bit nutty with insisting that it's necessary to start with a cold pan. Because, It can only affect the first side. When she flips it over the second side does not start with a cold pan, does it. If it really makes big difference she should insist you need two pans so the flip can start on a cold pan too. Then it would take over 45 minutes and even she isn't that nutty. I like her using mayonnaise, I will try that for sure today. thank you Clare!

Carla, you are my spirit animal! Not only have I spread the good word about mayo on grilled cheese for years, but I also advocate for absolute coverage of bread with the elected spread. Part of my job is building sandwiches in a deli and my coworkers think I m nuts for making sure I get maximum coverage on every sandwich.

Link to the papers or NEVER mention science again! I am not even kidding, if there isn't a watertight collection of studies backing up your science-claims, you are wielding the power of science in vain and tarnish the weight that its words should have. Don't ever do that!

so with Brad's organic naming strategy. is he implying that he just hung out with his newborn kids for awhile until their names came to him? how long did that process go on? what did they call them until they had names? looking for answers.

Claire can't focus in the morning and dragged everything to 25+ minutes without breakfast and coffee is straight up a big mood. It's the reason I gave to my lecturers whenever I'm late. Sometimes, the lecturers joined me for breakfast.

If only Claire knew to cut the tomato thick and grill them first. So good. I basically do the same thing, sans mayo with grilled tomato. I realize in the kitchen I'm like an amalgamation of all of them. A little bit of everyone.

Amiel did it right. You have to toast both sides of each slice of bread. It makes it more buttery, more crispy and when you flip them over and start putting the cheese on the already toasted side, it helps it melt faster

This is great but nothing will beat a cheese and onion toastie and legit just pop it in a toasty bag in the toaster 10/10 or the crappiest mild cheddar you can find and gherkins (pickles) in the toaster with brown sauce!

And this is a grilled cheese video, this is the kind of video you want to be a part of. Trust me. And on this day we witness the new method of getting kids to behave, beyond the threat of coal at Christmas.
