Make lockdown a little bit sweeter with this fool proof recipe for one of my favourite home bakes! This Jamaican Ginger Loaf Cake is perfectly moist, dense and moreish and the best thing of all is that it's so easy to make! (Oh, and your house will smell AMAZING. Serve it warm with custard or ice cream or slather it in butter! This recipe also keeps really well if stored in an air-tight container for a few days! Make sure you take photos of your bakes and tag me so I can see what you are up to! sallydells and use the tag #cupcakejemma Stay safe, look after yourselves and have fun baking! Saoujath: Hi Jemma. This may not be the right time with lockdown and everything but i've always been searching for the ultimate chocolate cake. You've done vegan, halloween etc. Chocolate sponge

I got really, really close to my iPad while I was watching this and I think I could actually smell the ginger. It was glorious. Then my roommate walked in and I did had to try to explain why I was trying to snort my iPad. I don t think she understood how much I really wanted to smell that cake because she went over to the other side of the room, grabbed her iPad from its stand, and slowly backed out of the room. Oh well, I enjoyed imagining the smell for a minute or two and she ll get over it. Great job on the cake, Sally. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Hi Sally. Wonderful recipe! Will def try it. :) However, I had a question. Why does cakes crack on top? It happens most of the time to me. I noticed yours did it too. While I can just level it off, but I would really like to avoid it. Please let me know: )
