Can butter be better? Yes. Burnt Butter (Beurre Noisette if you want to be fancy) is a simple and quick way to take your bakes to the next level. Burnt Butter has a unique rich, nutty flavour that we're all pretty obsessed with here at Crumbs and Doilies. One of our favourite things to do with it is to use it in Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Keep it simple with a pinch of salt an d a dash of Vanilla and we guarantee that you'll be switching to Burnt Butter Swiss Meringue Buttercream next time you're baking and caking. This quantity is enough to ice 12 Cupcakes 300g Unsalted Butter 3 Egg Whites 225g Caster Sugar 1/4 tsp Salt 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract For 12 Burnt Butter Cupcakes Preheat oven to 170C (fan assisted) 100g Burnt Butter 30g Unsalted Butter 60g Dark Brown Sugar 65g Caster Sugar 125g Self Raising Flour 1/4 tsp Salt 1/4 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda 2 Eggs 1. 5 tbsp Whole Milk 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

I absolutely love Swiss meringue buttercream. It is so much less sickly than conventional buttercream and I would happily just eat it by itself! I must try it with burnt butter Thanks so much for all of your hard work and constant inspiration and useful tips, as well recipes that are the best on You Tube

Perfect timing! Making a chocolate chip cookie dough cake this weekend for my son's homecoming and was wondering what buttercream to match that with, thought of biscoff, but I think it will be this, thanks!

Beurre noisette as French will say: ) If I understand well, it will be better to burn 400g of butter: 300g will go in the buttercream and 100g in the cupcake batter, right? Thanks for this recipe: )

I tried melting butter in the oven before. Forgot about it for a bit to long and it set fire. Does that count as burnt butter?
