For my food technology course work I've decided to make vegetable cupcakes. I've decided on the flavours carrot and orange, beetroot and chocolate, courgette and lemon and sweet potato and salted caramel. (They sound disgusting but taste divine) the thing I'm really worried about is texture. They are so dense and heavy and although this is a classic characteristic of this kind of cake I'd like to make them lighter. What I am currently doing is creaming butter and sugar, adding combined egg and veg, putting in four and adjusting batter thickness with vanilla milk but they never have the right texture as far as I'm concerned. Any suggestions greatly revived Xx

Hi, I am doing a survey so if any of you guys sweet treats lovers could help to make this happen, I deeply appreciate: ) As a baker myself, I really love decorating my baking products, so I'm wondering by which way you guys most decorate your baking products? A. By using flags, cute stamps and wrapper, or bagsB. By Candies, sprinkles and edible decoration detailsC. No, I think it's beautiful as it is, no need to decorate somethings that would eventually end up in my belly.

this is a flawed vanilla cupcake recipe. Do not add baking soda to a vanilla batter, because it will give a soapy/bitter taste to your cupcakes. Always use baking powder, or if you are using soda, add buttermilk or yogurt instead of whole milk because the soda needs to be activated by something acidic. you can see that the cupcakes didnt rise properly because of the soda.

Hi Jemma I'm a big fan of your cupcakes, I watch almost every recipe of yours and have noticed that you use Golden Syrup in many of your recipes but can you please suggest substitute for Golden Syrup as I don't think I'll be able to get it where I live in India. It'll be a big help. Thanks a lot for all those lovely recipes. Love You.

Hi Jemma I so love your videos even my 3 year old boy loves watching you. Anyway just 1 question the oven temperature that you use whenever baking is it for fan forced oven? Correct me if I am wrong because as far as I know I was told that when using fan forced oven, temperature should always be 10deg lower.

What a tasteful recipe. thanks. I do have a question out of interest about the baking soda. since the recipe is with self raising flour? I noticed this in a lot of your recipes(which I like. some bakers though say that baking soda only works with buttermilk or vinegar. Hope you can give me an A tot my Q

Hi Jemma is there any reason you use the all in one method when you bake your cakes or is it just for ease in the video? so many people say how important it is to cream the butter and sugar first and to not overmix the flour but wondering if it really makes a difference?

Jemma, all your recipes are amazing It's so incredible to be able to grab a recipe off YouTube and have it just WORK. Please keep uploading all your incredible stuff, and please give a heads up as to whether or not The Cake Book is still available anywhere?

I love watching your videos but they also make me sad because I can never recreate them since I don't understand how to measure the ingredients since I live in the us and we don't use the metric system much or at all really.
