I am just about done with my culinary school journey. (the fight aside) I needed one credit so I took an Ice Carving class. By the 3rd week I felt completely confident and I can work fairly fast. Making just about whatever were told too so far. I did do alot of art stuff back in highschool. But its my opinion that Ice sculpting is not extremely hard to learn. Maybe to get really good, yes. But Idk, he seemed to over express the skill I thought. Once you know the tools. ur good

I'm actually very interested in getting into ice sculpting. I have a serious and maybe dumb question. Is it not dangerous to be using electric chainsaws on ice? I would imagine they've gone this long without anyone getting hurt from electrocution, I just cant help to think that this is Darwin Award material.

Tighten the chain on that saw. and jeez those two work stations were way to close. 2 chainsaws going at the same time that close makes me cringe. Could also use some chainsaw chaps. The one gripe with them usually is sweating, dont think that would happen there.

Great episode. It kept interest to the end. Whoever edited it did a great job of cutting the less interesting parts. The audio levelling was pretty bad though. The voices are often really quiet then the music comes in way to loud.

Eww the ice looks so dirty while they are moving it and touching it and seeing it just sitting there in the dirty floor. Hopefully they clean it before they ship it off to the people who buy it.

Welcome to the first episode of How to Make It! We will be back with more soon, but first, please tell us what jobs you'd love to see Katie try out, in the comments below!

Nice video. but you must see phillipinos carving ice. without chainsaws. fruit and vegetable carvings. You'll find phillipino carvers on cruise ships.
