Making Sushi and Sukiyaki at Seattles Oldest Sushi Restaurant Cooking in America

In this episode of Cooking in America, Sheldon heads to Maneki, Seattle's first Japanese restaurant, where he tries out sukiyaki and sushi. Galactic123: The Japanese-Americans being put into internment camps is one of the more shameful chapters in the book of our great country, but I'm glad we've moved on from it and hopefully learned much from our past mistakes. So glad that this lady is just killing it right now. Gotta try to eat there when I take a trip to Seattle.

Thank you for sharing this video. I miss Seattle so much but I am afraid that the Seattle I fell in love with has bean destroyed by all of the Transplants that want this place to be another Sanfran or maybe a New York.

Why arent there a lot of Japanese people in the us like other Asians? I heard Japan is comfortable living and not as pack or expensive as China with cost of living. I wish there was more Japanese people here

Oh my I thought this lady must be at her 60-70s until she told her age, 95? no kidding, she looks glowing and even more youthful than me in my 20s lol
reply

Folks, she was kidding. She's not 95! She later mentioned in the video that her mom turned 87 this year, so obviously her daughter can't be older than her lol
