Its not just any wagyu half breed meat, its a TAJIMA half breed. Normal wagyu comes from Japan, but most US wagyu is from Australia. Although the Australian wagyu are offspring of Japanese wagyu beef, they descend from the generic Japanese cows that arent even considered a delicacy in Japan for a 100 years now. The Tajima gyu or better known as Kobe beef, is the best tasting beef in Japan, no question about it. 100 years ago a man in the Tajima district of Japan managed to breed a superiorly fat marbling cow breed as a farmer. Since then Tajima has always been known for the best beef in Japan. So that means, this beef they use in the video is better than the Australian wagyu yalls eat in the states, and better than the REAL wagyu from Japan. Must be crazy good. damn hungry now: /

I'm a little late to the party but, I do have a legitimate question. What separates washugyu from american kobe/american wagyu? From what I know, the rancher up the street from me raises a crossbreed of wagyu and angus, markets it as the best of both worlds but doesn't call it washuygu. I've been eating it since I found out about it in 2013, but he's been raising and selling since the early 2000s. Is there some difference between the currently sold american wagyu crossbreed and this washugyu?

So today I learned Americas most secret restaurant has almost 1. 5 million views on an endorsed video by Eater even though she claimed it wasn't a marketing ploy and I also learned Washugyu is just a fancy and cool sounding way of selling a cheaper Wagyu alternative crossbred with black Angus beef. Good job Eater. Keep endorsing these crappy overpriced hipster restaurants. A lot of cooking skill involved in slicing an expensive cut of meat and blowtorching it for a few seconds

Having lived in Kobe I loved to see that chef in a group hug like that - PDAs and closeness and touching in that way are usually frowned upon and I giggled inside because I knew he felt odd and uncomfortable but in a good way. I remember my steep learning curve when I first arrived and literally had to forget all my American ways lol. Anyway looks amazing shame I dont know anyone that could get me in there for dinner. I bet if you gotta ask the price then you cant afford it though

The have to know someone rule is very loose. Pretty much anyone can get in here, its more to give an appearance of exclusivity, Ive been here btw. Sushi Saito in Tokyo has a rule similar to this but it actually is nearly impossible to get into. Also the super rare washugyu is American angus cross bread with wagyu. Theres plenty of joints around that sell pure bred wagyu. Including bohemian I think since they are behind JPB shop.

I made it to 1: 23 and I can't. These owner guys (who come in to drink, as in that's why they own it) are so in love with themselves that they pay people to talk about their meta-hipster ideas in the third person for them because they're too tuckered out from doing it themselves. Later jerks.

I'm confused about her explanation. You get the the mableization form the wagyu and the leanness from yhe Angus; arent these simply opposing qualities rather than complementary? Or can someone expres it better?

Has anyone ever figured out where they find these obnoxious pretentious soy boys? They are an absolute joke. It almost impossible to watch their behavior and disrespect towards the chefs and guests.

How did this dude's hair move from the front of his head to his upperlip? No, but seriously, that is definitely the most receding hairline i have ever witnessed. Just give up dude!
