Guys, THIS IS THE REAL classic RV recipe. If you aren't using vinegar and buttermilk it is just a red colored chocolate cake. : ) I grew up with this version and nothing has ever compared. Work hard to find the real butter milk. The pay off is sublime. Many brides request a RV cake like one they have had before. not knowing the holy trinity of RV. Baking soda, vinegar and buttermlk is the secret. Thanks Emma, your ganache topped creation is truly a masterpiece. Well done YOU! XO

I have a small request. Could you please put down the required ingredients before starting the procedure? Because it would help us to use the exact amount required for the procedure. Because in some places we don't know how much quantity and what you are using for the procedure. So, first if you put down the requirements for the preparation it would help us. The way you prepare is really amazing and good. --

I have a question, i have made red velvet (its a 3 tier layer cake) yesterday, it was covered in fondant but more than 30 mins later my instructor saw that the fondant is slowly being eaten away due to the acidity of the cream cheese. Can you recommend me some method i can incorporate to my cake.

I followed the recipe for the cream cheese frosting, excellent recipe for the frosting. I thought the butter would change the taste of the cream cheese but it does not bother the taste of the cream cheese. I will always make that version of cream cheese frosting. Thank you. -

Hi Emma! Mother-s Day is around the corner and I-d love to make a red velvet cake with a surprise heart center! But, may I know if I can just use any cake recipe for the cutout hearts in the middle? I mean like a log cake not a circle cake

Hi Emma, thank you for the lovely recipes yo are sharing on your site. What pan sizes are you using in this red velvet recipe? By the way, can I use the mascarpone/ whipped cream for the frosting? Again thanks a lot.

Emma +emmasgoodies, I baked RV with similar recipe before and it always ended up with massive dome. I just learned today that I might have overmixed my eggs all this time! -Thank you for such descriptive video. GBU!

Hi Emma! I have a really important question. I love your cream cheese icing recipe, and I wanted to know if I can cover it in fondant? Would I have to freeze my frosted cake? Thank you!
