I just made these pancakes (30 March 2017. Contrary to my expectations, they're very light. They have a mild lemon flavor. The batter is very thick, so I added a few tablespoons of milk to thin it slightly. I made a syrup by melting raspberry jam with a a couple of tablespoons of water. Very nice pancakes -- a nice change from traditional pancakes and good for a weekend breakfast or for a light brunch / lunch. (These would probably also be good if they were topped with fresh fruit or berries, powdered sugar, and / or whipped cream)

Omg THANK YOU for making pancakes the right way and not stir it until it's smooth (hello that activates the gluten and makes for flatter and chewier pancakes. People always tell me that I'm making them wrong when I say to stir it until it's just combined but still lumpy and let it rest to saturate the flour clumps for approximately 15 min. But they make them lovely and fluffy and soft Cheers to great cooking and knowing your stuff

3: 09 Okay, I can't believe I am going to write this, but a thought came to me. I wonder if this is why people get gas sometimes? Could it be because they eat acidic food and alkaline food at the same meal? That never occurred to me until just now when Chef John said this? Sorry for being so graphic by the way, it was just a thought that came to and I was wondering if there might be any truth to it? Just curious?

I made these today. My family loved them, even my super picky french husband liked them. Super tasty and with a great texture. I would love to hear some tips to cook them, they weren't as delicious looking as in the video. Also, I try to involve my kids in the kitchen affairs as much as I can. this recipe proved easy for a 5 year old

I tried to make this today and it was a disaster. I live in France (so metric system) and didn't convert the 3/4 of water correctly, so I added 3/4 of a liter, which I see now is not the right thing do do. The batter was too watery so it didn't work. I'm so sad, I was soo looking forward for this. I won't be doing that mistake again

Chef John, I have a challenge for youMarshmallows. Sounds easy enough, right? Except, I'm diabetic. So, the challenge is present a usable recipe that has diabetic-friendly sugar substitutes and no corn syrup (unless you know of a sugar-free one, I've not found one. Bonus points if you can incorporate the marshmallow plant too.

4: 41 I was thinking the same thing, a fruit-based sauce might be better on here than maple syrup. Will you be showing us how to make any of these fruit-based sauces or syrups? That would be great. Just the basics would be good and then we can decide whatever fruit we want to use for the fruit-based sauce? Maybe?

Dear Chef John. I am a habitual YouTube viewer, so I am lazy AF. Do us a favor and make a video at 0. 5 speed. Its to troublesome to adjust the speed in the video settings ( it might also take away the reverb sound quality[sounds metallic] of the regular slowed speed. Thank you A bored habitual YouTube viewer
