Just so people know since theres mixed information in the comments: Scooter, the kid who received the scholarship did go to a culinary school. Im not sure the results of it but even if he supposedly left the school (which I doubt since he posted in 2014 about being on his last year, a portion of the scholarship funds were put towards heart surgeries for him, which it sounds like were a success Even better, as of November 2018, he confirmed that hes engaged to be married to his girlfriend Im not sure what he does for a job but it sounds like hes still very active in the culinary scene. Glad to hear things are going good for him

Gordon is such a classy guy. When he sees someone with a true passion for good food and is just caught in a bad situation, hell do all he can to help. Hes got no patience for BS or excuses, but if he sees your true passion and potential underneath the bad situation youre stuck in, hell do things like for that gentleman and pay for his culinary education and only expect a loaf of bread in return. I bet that gentleman is going to open a kick-ass bakery some day and give Gordon one of the best fresh-baked loaves ever.

1: 39 A rare sight. Gordon drinking a beer. :D Ive honestly watched hundreds of videos with Gordon in them, and cant remember any where he is drinking beer. Wine? Yes. Beer? No. He does cook with it though. Beer battered fish & mushy peas comes to mind.
