Gordon Ramsay demonstrates some basic cooking skills as well as some easy to do recipes. Including pork chops with sweet and sour peppers, pan-fried scallops to a stuffed roast chicken. Beeing more specific wouldn't hurt, but it's a great startI love cooking, I am not bad but I just can't keep up with my mum, so I am looking into improving my basic cooking-skills befor getting into more difficult/specific stuff.

2: 22 I've been trying to instill some knife skills into the young guys coming in these days, and the number of times I've have to repeat this phrase is insane. Everyone comes in thinking they're going to be slinging steel like a hibachi chef, and I've seen more than one person nearly lose a finger because of it. Take your time to learn how to do it right before you start to do it fast. Also, never thought to smash the whole garlic bulb and shake in a bowl. I'm definitely going to enjoy watching these.

My 11 year old is Obsessed with Mr. Ramsay. Would love to have her meet him to continue her love of cooking. She is a honor roll student that loves cooking because she has watched me and Mr. Ramsay cook. Yes, she does correct me and tell me that's not how Gordon does it all the time.

So. the explanations start to go really quick after awhile, with no actual timing involved or explanation. The just do this and that isn't teaching me anything. It started out nice, but it got less and less helpful as the video goes on.

If theres one thing I learned working in a Cantonese restaurant is that they love sharp knives. I understand now cooking at home using dull knives how important it is using sharp ones

His shows all seemed to make him out as fancy and beyond basics that it never occurred to me to check. This kind of advice, even showing on camera how to apply is amazing =)

Nicked myself chopping/mincing garlic last week. My finger healed within 48 hours due to working with super sharp knives. Might've been a different situation otherwise.

What is the name brand of the knife? I cant read it he is chopping to fast. I need those knives, he would tell me off with the horrible knives I have.
