Gordon returns back to his hometown in Scotland to see if his grandfathers old butchers shop is still there. He then meets some young, keen butchers and puts their steak knowledge to the test. Wingman22101 Live: The difference between a butcher and a supermarket is, in a supermarket you only get to choose from what they have, if you go to a Butcher you can order in specific cuts, i dont want what supermarkets offer i mean a 8 ounce steak? whats that. ill go the butcher and ask him to get me two 20 ounce Ribeye steaks on the bone, order them in and go back in 3 days, when they come you have fantastic local produce, try getting that at the supermarket The other thing is when you buy from a butcher you are helping 1 man feed his family, when you buy from a supermarket you are helping multi millionaires with 6 yachts stay as multi millionaires with 6 yahts. You gotta have some morals

I for a fact know that butcher shops are better than super markets. A butcher shop is better because you know that the meat is fresh but with a super market you dont know how long that meat has been there and how many people have inspected it, unless you know what date it has been brought in. Also the butchers work in front of you so you know how the meat is prepared, hell for all you know the meat in the super market could have been handled by a person who doesnt wear gloves.

Being a butcher is something I would love to know how to do. However, I dont think I would make a serious career out of it. Thus, I would have to have a very fair run down of the practice. Work for pay to learn is what I have only been able to afford in the culinary scene. I would only make it a learning experience and something better than what kitchens offer as pay to save up while I get my self through college. Not easy to say the least.

hey all, i have a question, so if i want to see other dudes penis, and help that dude ejaculate by stroking it becuase i like it, does it mean im gay? not trying to be a homo here, we are both totally two secure dudes just trying to help each other. not gonna suck it tho that would be gay. and we dont look at each other in the eye too, coz that would be homo still gonna drink the jizz tho. #nohomo. right? no homo?

Even hear in new zealand the traditional friendly local butcher shop is close to extinction. As kids visiting the butcher with our parents would mean the butcher giving us free cheerios per visit. Now with supermarkets you dont give free cheerios to kids. Its just cut, weigh, pack n stack ready for sale. The only way for a butchery apprenticeship now is through supermarkets.

butchers are simply more expensive it may be better meat but when you see sirloin that is 17/lb at the butcher and the same cut is on sale for 8/Lb at the supermarket its hard to justify paying twice the amout at the butcher, i do sometimes go to my butcher though if i am having people over

Ya, butcher shops are closing, because who wants to see a bunch of tattooed burly old men putting their hands all over the meat theyre going to eat. Out of sight, out of mind. Just love how the food tastes when the guy with bloody hangnails and bandaids plays with it. YUCK

No one wants to be a butcher when youre half way decently educated. To attract people you need to up the salary. Not sure how much a butcher makes but I doubt its more than your average easy office job which most people want to do.

I would love to get all my meats from butcher shops. Its cheaper, its more fresh, and you can get anything you want, cut the way you want it. But there are no butcher shops near me, not even in my city. As far as I know anyway.

They are more expensive, though I do buy my steaks & game from my local ones in Dulwich. Supermarkets are cheaper and if pple are on a tight budget then of coz it makes sense to do wht they can afford to feed their families.
