Well done Sadie! You did a fantastic job! I made my first cake by myself when I was15. I put too much egg in, as I didn't realise they came in different sizes and it came out awful and solid as a rock! I learnt an important lesson that day, and ever since then I always weigh the eggs.

but she didn't learn how to bake the cakes, just decorate them? feels like missing the most important step, maybe that would have also taught her what she did wrong with her own cake so next time no one gets food poisoning again xD

This is probably my favorite save the cake. I loved the final cake at the end and the whole process was fun to watch. Also, I really wish I could be on this because my cake decorating needs lots of help.

Can we use simple syrup on a regular cake? Do we even need to? I make simple syrup for homemade margaritas. Is that the same? 2-1 ratio water and sugar and melt over low heat til sugar dissolves. Same?
