Back home, for the Sweet 16 equivalent celebration for young girls, it seemed like having a Barbie cake was a MUST. Except they didn't use real Barbies, that would've been too expensive. they just bought this fake Barbie upper body, meant for this specific use. The problem was that nobody seemed to attach it properly, so you'd get this super scary zombie-like Barbie (buttercream stuck on her hair, usually bright pink coloured) just half hanging onto her dress' skirt xD

This cake is gorgeous! Reminded me of the birthday cake from Eye for an Eye with Sally Field, her daughter gets murdered in that scene and the cake ended up ruined. so thanks for that memory!

My mom made me a very similar cake for my 5th) Birthday! That was maybe 13 years ago. It makes me happy to see something so similar so many years later. :)
