What do you think about making a 3 layer cake, each layer not as think as the ones you have made, and cutting the heart in the center layer so the conversation hears are between layers and not right on the cake board?

Have you done any videos on what to do with excess cake after leveling/trimming? That would be cool. The actual spongey cake is my favorite part of any cake. Would hate to see excess go to waste.

Just curious as to why you coat your cakes with a 1/8 layer of simple syrup. Don't that make the cakes way too moist? Isn't that too much sugar in the cake including the frosting and fondant.
