Jamie's back with this incredible beef stroganoff recipe. Prime cuts of sliced steak in a delicious creamy yogurt and mushroom sauce livened up with an onion pickle and a dash of brandy. An really quick and tasty dish for all the family. This easy recipe is from Jamie s 15 Minute Meals television series - first aired on Channel 4 in 2012. If you're in the UK or Ireland you can watch the whole series right here: Read the full recipe on page 62 of Jamie's 15 Minute Meals book or take a look at the ingredient list below for the basics: Rice 1 mug (300g) of 10 minute wholegrain or basmati rice 1/2 s bunch of fresh thyme 200g baby spinach Pickle 2 small red onions 1 handful of gherkins 1 bunch of fresh flat-leaf parsley Stroganoff 300g mixed mushrooms olive oil 3 cloves of garlic 2x 200g sirloin steaks, fat removed 1 heaped tsp sweet paprika 1 lemon 1 swig of brandy 4 heaped tbsp fat-free natural yoghurt 1 swig of semi-skimmed milk

I like this recipe and I've made it a few times. I think it's a bold variation of beef stroganoff. The yogurt replaces the sour cream but this is not such a violation of the original recipe as some commentators imagine. Yoghurt is just as sour but with fewer calories so the effect is similar. The addition of the pickled mix to the main dish is certainly unusual but there's a method to this madness. Onions are a classic stroganoff ingredient and pickled cucumber was often served as accompaniment to the dish, so mixing them all up works well. One thing should have been mentioned though: It's important to take the pan off the heat when adding the yoghurt ( or sour cream) as it will curdle otherwise. The taste would still be fine but it wouldn't look good.

This is my new favourite dish, I've made it twice. Really tasty. The only issue is that yoghurt can curdle if there's too much liquid so make sure you drain leftover meet juice / brandy. Only mix yoghurt for a short period of time as well. Next time I'll try it with sour cream to see if that's any better.

Made this just tonight. I ve never made stroganoff with brandy or pickles before, but they made it absolutely delicious! The rice made everything seem less heavy, as well. Please add more 15 Minute Meals content, if you can!

This is very different from original Russian beef stroganoff. It looks tasty though, I will try it some time, but I would probably even name this dish something else because it's so different - Beef Oliver maybe? :-)

steel utensils in a non stick pan, like fingernails on a chalkboard, guess it's okay if you only use it once, now lets use knives on a granite counter, you are not cooking in my kitchen mate. lol. R.

I went out to pick some wild mushrooms with my dad today and I made them like this and it was hands down the best thing I ever cooked. Thank you so much for the recipe.

Excellent recipe except for parsley, it must not be put on during the frying procedure but at the end, while cooking with a sos, otherwise it dies quickly. Thanks for posting!

Jamie, I love you, but. It's not a classic Beef Stroganoff, sorry, please, read about how it was invented, and you would get better perception how to make it properly

This is definitely not the classic Beef Stroganoff. I would not add pickle under any circumstance and traditionally it is served over buttered egg noodles.
