As April Fools jokes go, this one actually sounds kind of tasty. Obviously, nobody's going to pay much for pre-sliced white bread with a drizzle of tomato soup on it, but I could picture a somewhat overly thickened chowder seeping into a crusty roll having the same sort of soul-soothing quality that Nathan's old chow mein sandwiches used to have. On the other hand, if you went overboard on the amount of soup, and made it a fork and knife (and spoon) dish, it could be a riff on the Mexican sorta ahogada, which is a delightful mess!

People aren't into soups when it comes to putting Soups in the sandwich. The reasons for that is because soups are usually considered light meals, and even with a napkin or a plastic plate i bet its a bit easier to make a mess if i have to order to go, and i just bought this shirt. Personally, i would pay 4 pounds if i was sitting in a restaurant with a huge menu variety.

John man you let me down with this one. Nothing wrong with being a critic especially when the thing is nonsense. It's not about being ready for it or not, be realistic. This so called food trend is purely there to rip people off, absolutely nothing cutting edge or clever or necessarily tasty about it. You're not even getting a whole bowls worth of soup there!

It would be easy enough to make a real one that doesn't leak. Just don't cut the roll all the way through and treat it rather like a pita and pour the soup into it. I would actually pay money for something like that. well, maybe not the carrot soup version.

In all seriousness, a thickened soup (or better yet, a stew) on a bun would be pretty nice if done properly. A beef stew sub sandwich wouldn't be day-and-night different from a Philly cheese steak. Different, sure, but not completely different.

First Fail I've given to a FoodTube video. Horrible portion size. Zero presentation. To pull this off you need to think substantial. A quarter cup of soup over bread doesn't come close. Please keep sharing. Just not this. Blessings ChefMike

I think it's actually pretty dumb to pay 15USD for soup on bread which tastes the same as dunking bread into soup and is much cheaper. Just because it has a kind of fancy name doesn't make it wow-factor-gourmet.

Dude I can totally use this: D. Seriously, a juicy filled bread that's crispy and has a lot of your own combination would be nice! I love experimenting with food but I cannot cook or like cooking D:

Soup and a sandwich seems to work better but in the rat race we seem to be in today combining them is not so far fetched. It'll catch on just give it time. Thanks for sharing.

its just soup and bread. they say that, not because they don't like the idea. its just that bread is cheep and its not even 1/5 of a dish of soup in there. But nice idea: D
