My family used to share food with our neighbors all the time when I was growing up. They would give us African food and we would give them soul food lol. We used to play with their son a lot so if the mom made food while we were there, she would hand us a spoon. It was interesting to me because sometimes she made communal dishes and we would eat together off of the same giant plate

I was talking to my mom today and she asked me what dishes I miss from my childhood in Korea and this always comes to mind. My grandma always made this for us when we came to visit her in the countryside. Delicious! Wish I had some now.

Wowww us Dominicans (from Dominican Republic) eat a dish around the holidays called Habichuelas con Dulce which is a sweet bean porridge that looks so similar to this. This is probably delicious.

I didnt know that you dont necessarily have to add sugar to the bean sauce. Ive always eaten this sauce sweetened. Thats just how its prepared in Japan.

I really like it. Just a suggestion, try adding some coconut milk, brown sugar, cinnamon powder and a bit of salt instead of flour. It really fragrance.
