My German family makes Pork Hocks with sauerkraut. The pork hocks are the same as trotters, but with the hoof/feet part removed. I also use pork hocks to make Bigos, a Polish dish with sauerkraut, cabbage, pork hocks, pork chops, pork ribs, kielbasa sausage, bacon, garlic, bay leaf, - you cook it a long time, then leave it in the fridge for three days (although I never could wait that long. The Poles also use the liquid from boiling pork hocks, then strain it and make a jelly, with pieces of the meat and boiled carrots. Then it's cooled and sliced. It's delicious!

I love your cooking show so much I have made many recopies from you site, and love them all. I also love how sweet, kind, informative, and divine you are. I hope to see more of you and your fabulous food. I dream of going to Korea someday, and perhaps meeting the man of my dreams who I can cook for. Once again thank you so much! :)

Wow! Youre incredible Maangchi! I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing. Ive seen a lot of videos online of wrapped sheep brain. Can I find that meal in Chinatown, NY? Have you made that dish before? Or eaten it? Is it considered a Korean dish?

Korean foods are incredibly unhealthy and junky. These pig feet are all but cholesterol that will destroy your artery. Chapchae is the most dangerous food for building up insulin resistance in your body. Don't eat Korean foods.

First time watching her and she is drinking beer, I just love this woman: . I am going to make this since I love pork legs. I have cooked it in different way, a bit similar in ingredients but this is a must try. Thank you.

I never dare to cook this. Just takes too long and the herbal ingredients are too much to make the right taste. Pork is the meat you really need to remove the smell really well otherwise all effort goes for nothing.

I'm from Puerto Rico. We have the recipe but mix with beans. We called patitas de cerdo con habichuelas is super yummy. I never try Korean way but sound delicious. I want to try to make soon.

I agree with you this dish is challenging. I rather order or buy at store. Hahahhahahh.
But there's also joy in eating what you cook. So maybe next time.

Hi Maangchi, if i am not eating this immediately after it's cooked, how do i store it so that it will not turn hard or dry.
