Today I am making pillowy and soft glazed cake donuts from scratch. This recipe is easy and tastes just like donut shop donuts.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups plus 2 Tbsp (325 g) all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp (14 g) baking powder
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup (236. 5 ml) buttermilk
1 large egg (room temperature)
4 Tbsp (57 g) melted unsalted butter
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Extra flour for work surface
oil for frying
GLAZE
2 1/2 cups (300 g) confectioner's sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
4 to 5 Tbsp (60 to 75 ml) cold water
