wow I've been waiting for this recipe i remember my grandma making these. i always saw when she would get a handful of dough and squeeze it so it would come out between her thumb and index finger then she would put the dough ball in a big bowl, i don't want to go into detail. But i remember her rolling the dough like a tortilla and putting it in a cast iron skillet that had hot oil. Thank you for the recipe I'm going to see if my wife would like to make them. I'm wanting to try also

Thank you for sharing, my abuela used to make these every Christmas and New Years. She is gone now and she told me it was a handful of this and a palm of that. I did forget about the tea. Thank you Thank you for bringing back childhood memories. I will buy your book today.

My grandmother taught my mother and aunts how to make these. They are a holiday favorite. I've never seen them rolled out in full. We always stretch them by hand until they're tissue paper thin. They're crispy and practically melt in your mouth at the same time.

This looks so delicious. Crazy question. Is there a version to make this without frying? I avoid shallow and deep frying. Probably not but going to ask anyway.
