How funny! I was thinking about what I was going to make tomorrow for supper being that we've had a lot of colder weather this past week. We haven't had chili in a while so I was going to make some and with cornbread too! I'm able to make it like I normally do tomorrow, but I'm glad I saw this for a time when I need something quick and easy. Thanks so much for sharing your recipes with us. I love how you use what you have and don't stress over what you might be missing for a recipe. ! I have never made chili without pinto beans. I usually add 1 can kidney and 1 can pinto beans. That's how my mom made it!

I don't understand the anger about how people make food, I always work with what I've got, if I don't have all the ingredients, I'm gonna still make it work and it's gonna bi good, and I'll add something new, especially if it's gonna help stretch the meal for longer, I rarely follow every step and ingredient in recipes. One of the reasons I love your videos is because you do the same, you make it work and it's always good, that's what a good cook is

When I first buy ingredients for the next two weeks or so I have specific recipes in mind. Buy the end of that time period, I use what I have and try to make something interesting. More often than not those recipes are my favorites. Chili is a perfect recipe for that. Got some sort of meat? Perfect. Got some beans or not? Throw them in. Got some veggies? Toss whatever you have in and make it work

We make chilli with different 3 types of beans, garbanzo and corn. It is delicious and very filling. We make a big batch and have with with crackers one day, over baked potatoes another. Sometimes we have for breakfast with fried eggs on top. It is all so good and the beans really do make it go a long way.

You're a brave woman, Angelika! Chili and cornbread are the two foods people seem to fight over the most! And you did both! And both looked delicious. I'm a huge chili fan and crave it often, so I make it a lot and order it out, too! I enjoy almost any chili and am neutral on the beans issue!

I lived in TX for over a decade and don't know anyone who had a problem with beans in chili. Nowadays, chili without beans is more often a hotdog topping. But I can say with HIGH confidence that chili either with or without beans is far, Far, FAR better than no chili at all.

Looks delicious. I'll have to try turkey. As for no beans in chili I've never understood that(I've always eaten it with beans here in Wis) as that's just meat soup. Everybody has their own chili recipe and gets to eat it anyway they like. tfs

I have always had chili with beans. My mom used kidney beans which I don't care for. I normally use chili beans. Last time I wanted chili, all I had was black beans. worked amazing. I'm probably going to add some from now on this looks amazing

I have always had beans and corn in my chilli. Red beans to be exact. That is how i've been thought to make it. Ppl need to grow up and stop being so judgy. Everyone likes THEIR food the way they like it. Bon Appetit.

I grew up in Texas, and the only way my Mom made chili was with beans. It is the only way I make it! I love Jiffy cornbread too. Gee, now I am getting hungry. Guess chili and cornbread are on the menu for tomorrow!

Thanks for the quick recipe! AND--I have never thought to butter the top of corn bread right out of the oven! So glad I saw you do it! Makes a lot of sense (I do it w/ my homemade dinner rolls)
Thank you!

I love chili period. I prefer chili no beans for my hotdogs and frito pies, but when I m eating just chili with cornbread, I gotta have beans included, and a slice of raw onion on the side.
