Dear Mark Wiens, no hate or anything, but since I noticed you don't have any haters or heated arguments in the comment sections, can I have the honor to add some extra SPICE by giving you a backhanded compliment with a notorious title/nickname
Mark Wiens is no ordinary foodie. He's an adventurous omnivore with the spice tolerance of a bird. And btw I hope your son Mica inherits the spice tolerance genes from you and your wife Yin once he grows up.

Hi Mark, You should try to find a real food blogger to introduce Chinese food. The meat ball (lion’s head) includes waterchestnut, not bamboo shoot as she said. At least the guide should prepare carefully before introducing the food on your video. And please try to find a guide that speaks English. Doing these things will make your videos more accurate, interesting and attractive to foreigners. Welcome back to China.

when i grew up in the 90s, there were several good restaurants in every district, in the middle of residential areas. Everything was good without all the chemicals they use these days, and the meat and veggies tasted better without whatever they use to grow them now. I haven't lived in Shanghai for 15 years and all of the area I grew up in have been demolished, good restaurants are far and between now. its a shame

seems all dishes (except the dumplings) are mussy with sauce type of dish. I notice lack of texture in chinese cuisine, except southern part of china (Guang Zhou, Hongkong areas where the best of chinese cuisine are. The northern part is even worse, hot pot, mala, hot pot, mala, pepper mala in almost everything lols. Michelle, your counterpart, so stiff and the eyes are so sharp and not very friendly vibe

China has one of the three ancient cuisine cultures. The others are Greek and Roman. What Americans usually refer to as Chinese food is not even what Chinese people eat, and now with the rise of the middle class in China, plain people there are able to sample the incredible vastness of the cuisine once only afforded to emperors.

Welcome to Shanghai! I was wondering if it might be possible for your videos on Bilibili to be updated more promptly. At the moment, the content available there seems to be limited to material from China. I truly look forward to being able to watch all of your videos on Bilibili in the near future.

Did Mark's wife toss him I don't see his wife on his Videos. Typical Thais always toss their foreigner partners. That's what happens when you get into arranged marriages for monetary gain. No love Mark travels a lot when does he have time for family he got tossed.

Hi you need to start a score from 1-10 on how good the food is like The Food Ranger Trevor. You always say its good but youre face is just trying to be nice to the restaurant owners, just give it to them straigh if its bad it will want to make them better it.

Your co-presenter seemed far more interested in her own video production that she almost forgot she was in YOUR video. .
Seems a little bit rude.
Also, she didnt seem to add anything, she just agreed with anything that you said

25: 08 the quality in the style of the restaurant is shown in the food. The chef shows how quickly and steel hoses the presentation each dish and the bright. Colors of the ingredients that has been added in to make to food.

Does anyone know the answer to this question So I'm curious as to whether Mark pays for all this food or does the restaurant see this as a promotion and they charge off the price as an advertisement cost
Thanks

Makes me hungry for dumplings but super hot lava inside I wonder if mark has a super human tongue, hate scalded tongue that will spoil future meals. Does mark contain his pain well or really a super human tongue

I guess this host doesnt know Mark isnt into much sweet dishes. Mark is more into savory and spicy dishes, so I know this man wasnt into all those sweet dishes at the first restaurant.

The food guide you had in China was amazing! I’ve watched all of your videos from China, and every single one is packed with authentic local dishes and specialties.

Rednote should pick someone who is fluent in English to accompany Mark for food tour in Shanghai. I feel the interaction btw Mark and hostess was missing or not enough.
reply

In China, $2 can buy you a plate of dumplings, not just one. I don’t care what it is. Do not pay $200 in China for a dish, not even for a meal.
