i agree that Penang is simply a living museum. Having founded by Sir Francis Light in 1786, Penang has some of the well reserved european style heritage sites and multi cultural place which is ideal for tourism and retirement. 1 day is definitely not enough for you to explore coz there's a lot more Penang can offer you, apart from scenery, Penang is also famous for its gourmet paradise, ranging from chinese, malay, indian, peranakan food, western food and seafood, your taste buds will thank you, hehe. not forgetting, Penang has quite a lot of temples and pre war houses. Have you been to the forest reserve and Penang Hill? you're gonna love it Penang waterfalls, adventure park, beaches, spice garden, botanical garden etc will satisfy your desire to get close to mother nature. Guess what? there are tourists come all the way to Penang just to taste durians Musang King, Red Prawn, Hor Lor, Red Meat, Kun Poh are some of the famous names of Penang durian, they carry 5 unique sensations which is sweet, bitter, flowery, wine and numb, unlike durian in other country which is plucked prematurely, Penang durian only fall to ground(net to prevent from falling to ground) once riped. There are new attractions in Penang Komtar, The Top, dare to walk on hollow glass the Rainbow Skywalk? You can relax yourself in the bistro next to the skywalk. The gravityz offers you adrenaline pumped action of ninja warrior alike obstacles from 238m on the very top of Komtar, with so many attractions, Penang is going to amaze you

From Lebuh Armenian, if you walk straight towards Lebuh Acheh (towards the heritage hotel, on your left you'll find this indian restaurant (in an old shoplot. It's more like canteen/mess. It has no signboard, locals call this place kedai Muthu. I've been going there for ages and I've only seen a few tourists so far, but at lunch time the place will be full house, all locals (business hours 12. 45pm-3pm. The food there, goddammnit, is simply freaking delicious. Nothing fancy here, all are basic south Indian foods, but the taste, out of this world(the price? Dirt cheap Rice is free, and you can ask for as much as you can eat, no matter how many times) They been there for as long as i can remember, and everything is cooked fresh every morning. If you guys visit penang again, go look for this place, trust me, you wont regret.

Missed out on a lot. Nasi Kandar, Char Kuey Teow, etc. Last went to Penang in September 2018 to eat, what else. However the city of Georgetown was dirty, many eateries were slimy. Deen Nasi Kandar was stinky, grotty. Cant stand walking along the roads with yucky smells from the open drains/sewer. Very disappointed with the poor hygiene there. If only there were good Nasi Kandar, Nasi Lemak, Char Kuey Teow in Singapore. Ended up with Line Clear Nasi Kandar at the airport. At least the dining area was clean, couldnt see the kitchen from there. dont wanna know.

Love all your videos Mark and thanks for visiting Khoo Kongsi which is also my ancestor's clan house. If you visit Penang during the Chinese New Year you will see more vibrant atmosphere primarily in those Chinese temples like the Khoo Kongsi and Kek Lok Si as the lights will be lit up and lion dances performance will be held and not to forget the fireworks throughout Penang. Keep up the good work

Hi Mark Wiens. my suggestion is tht u need to explore more about Penang because, there a more delicious food out there in penang n u missed most of them n I Am expecting a part 2 soon from u with more coverage of penang foods. For your information there is other name for Penang which is we call as 'food paradise', and also not to forget visit Penang Hill. Thank you. Happy food hunting.

Food aint that special in Penang. Yeh theres nice restaurants. But nothing better then in Singapore. Personally I prefer Indonesian food better and the restaurants in Jakarta are much better also. But all Asian food is good I just cant get why people say Penang food is so good when its not. And local Penang food is rubbish.

Stayed at the Blue Mansion Approx 12 years ago. There used to be an eating courtyard next door at night (prob built over now. Beautiful enigmatic building. Supposed to have the best feng shui on the island, yet the downfall of the inhabitants were so devastating. I can assure you the place is haunted by great sadness.
