Eat More Tom Yum t-shirts available now: Im in the process of updating my Bangkok eBook, called eBook: 101 Things To Do in Bangkok, and so on todays Bangkok vlog, we headed first to meet a friend at Thong Lo BTS station. From there we walked to Napa Place Bed and Breakfast ( - affiliate link, a place I wanted to check out and see if I could recommend it for the new edition of the ebook update. It turns out, Napa Place is very nice, in a good location not far from the BTS skytrain, and it has a real home away from home feel to it. Its a type of place you would like if you want a quiet classic place to stay. For lunch we went to a restaurant called My Choice, located on Thong Lo Soi 36. Although the restaurant was quite slow and not very busy, the food was pretty good. The best dish at the restaurant we ate for lunch was the green curry served with roti, I thought that was excellent. After eating lunch, we had a quick coffee and then continued on our day living in Bangkok. We jumped in a taxi and went to MR Kukrit Heritage Home, the home residence of MR Kukrit Pramoj, an very important and influential man in Thailand. He was an author who wrote over 150 books, and he was also the 13th Prime Minister of Thailand. His home, includes 5 different teakwood buildings. MR Kukrit Pramoj spent many years of his life decorating and preserving his house. Another part of visiting the MR Kukrit House was the amazing garden outside, which is filled with a lotus pond, bonsai trees, and flowers, The house is not overly big, but the traditional Thai style of it is what is really impressive. I also loved visiting the house in the middle of Bangkoks financial district of Sathon. There are skyscrapers and banks in the distance, but the MR Kukrit Heritage Home is a haven of a botanical garden and tradition in the middle of modern Bangkok. Entrance price was 50 THB. Places visited in this Bangkok video: Napa Place Bed and Breakfast: - affiliate link My Choice Restaurant: Thong Lo Soi 36 MR Kukrit Heritage Home: Hia Wan Khao Tom Pla: Coming soon this Bangkok vlog

When using a common spoon to get food, do not allow the spoon to touch your food in your plate. At today's prices, a Siam style house could cost 20 million baht though it is common for such buildings to cost 200 million within a compound. I have seen along the roads where the houses displayed cost 7 - 10 million baht for a single floor. Thai salas easily cost half a million baht. I estimate construction costs at 20k per sqm and could easily rise in the near future.

Another really great vlog. I like your vlogs and this one surprised me. Glad my phone lets me know when you post to youtube. I love green curry but I'm learning to like different foods from watching your videos. Here in my midwest usa town they finally opened a Thai restaurant that has good Thai food. Shockingly it's a chain restaurant but it has great Thai curries. So after watching your video I'm going there for lunch. Thanks for all your hard work.

Hi Mark Happy 4th of July Just another one of your amazing videos. The food looks awesome. I would like to see Ying take on more responsibility and sit down at the dinner table with you and get her opinion as well. You and Kyle Le are the best vloggers. Did you get to meet Tien the young lady in Kyle's videos from Hanoi? Thanks Victor from Ohio.

Which was better, the green or red curry? I prefer and make on occasion the green Thai curry, Red one when ever I tried was always somehow to hot and spicy. Until recently, where I used less red c. paste. And made green oven cooked rice pilav with green beans. A plain vegetarian dish. It was fantastic. You can't stop eating.

Great video I really enjoy watching your vlogs. Lots of great tips of what to see and what to eat. The MR Kukrit House remaids me a lot the Suan Pakkard Palace Museum (near the BTS Phaya Thai) - traditional wooden buildings in lovely garden, surround by modern city. Have you ever visited that museum?

Mark Wiens can you do a video or two about good halal food places in Bangkok? I was recently there with my wife and kid and did not find many traditional thai eateries that are Halal. P. s: we love ur videos and would love for you to come to Pakistan.

Loved the video Mark. Had a bit of a different feel to it. Maybe it's the music tracks you've included. Makes it a bit more up-beat, rather than just Mark's dialogue all the time(not that I'm criticizing) Just seems a bit more polished to me.
