NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT: Sally's Apizza is another one of the greatest New Haven pizza (apizza) restaurants on the pizza route in New Haven, Connecticut. They are known for their massive oval shaped, extremely thin, coal fired pizzas, and they are life-changing. Sally's Apizza - As we arrived to Sally's Apizza, we met up with Ray and Colin, who really helped us in getting a table and showing us around the pizzeria, with special permission to film inside the kitchen and see the amazing pizza production, and the coal fire oven. We tried three different types of pizzas, a white potato pizza, a straight tomato pie with anchovy, and a Ray created special that was called the Firebird that included chicken, pepperoni cups, and a variety of peppers. All three were totally different, and each had a unique taste. What stands out so much to me is how thin the crust is at Sally s so unbelievably thin and cooked perfectly. And additionally I loved their tomato sauce, tart and sweet, and it was some of the most balanced tasting pizzas I ve ever had. Along with Zuppardi s, Frank Pepe, and Modern Apizza (Watch the video here: Sally's Apizza is a must eat pizza restaurant when you re in New Haven, Connecticut, and one of the best pizzerias in the United States

Of all the New Haven Apizza that Mark showed us, these at Sally's look the most tasty to me. The dough looks perfect and the char is not too much (i. e. charred but not burned to coals. I would definitely eat all of them (although not at once) and although being vegetarian, I would make an exception for the Special (those peperoni sausage cups looked far too delicious to peel them off) Another great 15 minutes of food heaven - thanks to Mark Wiens. (I like the little lobster claw toy of Micah )

I am so glad you are doing this video. We are in CT until September. My husband is a travel nurse working at Yale. We tried Frank Pepe s this first week we were arrived. So good. Sally s is next on my list. We actually enjoyed our Frank s at that playground you wakes by so our kids could play.

I like the pizza but Everytime I had it I wished for more cheese and less char but some people love that. I used to work in the pizza industry and they were always on top. Great content as usual. It's great to see my is stomping grounds as well (CT not New Haven. Lol

my message may be deleted. but look at the oven. its really dirty. u can see the black spots. which because of burning pizza many years an not get cleaned. they should put something under the pizza before put it on oven to avoid pizza touch the surface of oven.

I tried top pizza places in UK, France, Italy, Finland, Russia, Turkey, Canada, Spain and I consider New Haven style pizza to be the best in the world and when it s NOT Neapolitana style but pillowy and delicate like focaccia then its the goat.

Pizzas look insane, Just cant get over the Cross Contamination in this Kitchen its quiet nasty to be honest. A rasturant loking like this in denmark would have been shut down many years ago.

Mark, enjoy watching your content! However, do not enjoy these clowns you have with you. Much better when its just you and your wife.

A little ways down route one you will also find Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, and a couple more. To me I find that insane

Everything is amazing if you ask Mark Wiens. I doubt he's ever disliked anything so it's hard to gage how good it really is.
