If you don't finish all the foods out of those big bowls, what happens to it? And I have to comment that some of their foods you order are gross looking to me. As for myself, I'll stick to American, some Italian foods, some German and some Chinese foods like authentic Chinese fried rice (no peas/carrots added) and sticky rice bowels with either chopped chicken, beef or pork and a yummy curry sauce. Also I love the Chinese egg rolls made here in Chinese eating places. I do like different kinds of noodles depending on the kind they are. Also love some kinds of Mexican foods made here in the US. Also, your son is adorable. and your lovely wife. Happy Travels to you both

I'm a native to Nakhon Si Thammarat. The city has long history and used to be its own kingdom in control of a dozen cities in Southern Thailand in its peak as well as part of a few civilizations in Melayu Peninsular before. It's a bygone history and now the city is only famous for the temple and savage people. I still wish the city would one day rise again to rival other big cities like Chiang Mai. Just want to say that I don't think any of the food you ate in the video are native to Nakhon Si Thammarat. They can be found all over Thailand. The rice noodle is also originally from Vietnam, eaten all over Thailand.

Mark and Ying, You both create such mouthwatering videos. I have watched so many of them, some dating back to 2011. I have to say, your best footage is from villages where the people make the most of what they have. These places are not cash wealthy but are spiritually rich. Their food preparation, hospitality and joie de vivre is so striking. When I watch videos of wealthier places (Sweden, Switzerland, etc, I am struck by how much soul is missing. I am glad you venture into both types of culinary cultures. Perspective is everything

mark why is it that you begin to shake when you see food i watch you a lot and myself and friends notice you shake when a large amount of food is around you and also please take smaller bites of your food the way you eat at times is like you are competing with others for the food and also please don't double drip your forks and please save food for sing and mika you always eat all and leave very little for them example your trip tonakhon si thammarat table manners please

You know you have watched Mark Wiens' many videos when you can predict his next reaction to food. If it is sooo sweet and yummy, he first falls in front then sideways and when he feels is it sweet and maybe a littile bit okay he falls sideways but when suprisingly good he opens his eyes widely and does the yummy face. Come back to Kenya and I promise you a home cooked meal.

Hi Mark, I watched this video with special interset because I will be getting married in Nakhon Si Thammarat at the end of this month. I have visited my wife's home just once before and didn't have much time to explore the local eating spots then. Now I have plenty of food for thought; -) Thank you
