7 plant care mistakes to avoid how to keep plants alive Tamara: You eat a lot of vegies, so you can totally just make your own fertilizer rather than buying it. I made my composter from some old paint buckets, and worms have been turning my fresh food scraps into rich fertilizer, soil, and worm tea for years. Though the main work for the environment involves challenging the huge companies that are wrecking it all, there's no point living healthy if people are buying everything, driving around, spending lots of money etc. Most of us can't spend this kind of money anyway.

This video is coming in such a perfect timing. I have only ever had 3 plants in my life. I had an orchide a few years ago that I managed to survive for a year before it died. This year for Valentine I got another one and after 2 weeks it quickly started to go down hill. It no longer has any flowers left and it lost some leaves. No matter what I Google for help nothing is working. I tried moving it to a more sunny space at a window and hope for the best. 2 weeks ago I also bought myself a Basil plant and after 2 days it quickly started dying. However last week I removed all dead leaves to the point the plant was all naked from leaves and moved it together with my orchide and somehow miraculously it's now starting to grow again. In 2 days it has gotten a good 15-20 baby leaves and I couldn't be happier. Because I can't make your double tomato bruschetta without fresh basil afterall

Thank you for the helpful tips. So grateful you also talk about the times it went wrong and you were overloving your plants and killing them. That happened to me and it bugged me to the level I threw out my old and dying plants and lived years without them. Until someone gave us a pancakeplant that started propagating. I have started buying plants again and with your tips for propagating and caring I'm hopeful things go right this time. And if one dies, I know now that it happens to the best of us because of your honesty. Thank you/dankjewel.

Even if a spider plant looks 90% dead, all brown and drooped, it can come right back to life green and beautiful with some extra sunlight and a good thorough watering. I think it's the easiest houseplant.
