Not a fan of basting the finished, out of the fire, steak with leftover marinade. Keep doing it and you will get food poisoning sooner rather than later. Whilst beef itself is safe to eat raw, the butchering process can get all sorts of faecal bacteria on the outside surface of any cuts. This bacteria then gets spread around on the butcher's cutting board, so you could end up with every single cut being covered in bacteria. And that bacteria then ends up in your marinade. Look, overall, chances are you'll be fine. But still. i don't recommend it. Using it to baste a steak still on the grill is fine, but not after you take it off the grill.

One day I was walking down the road, and a neighbour was giving away some of their unwanted stuff. This believe it or not was a common thing to do. I've found DVD players, gardening equipment, mobile phones and other household stuff. One day though(which brings me to why I'm posting this comment) a neighbour was giving away a Pyrex measuring cup, just like in this vid. Well, time has past, and I'm in another area, and the measuring cup is the only knick-knack I still have. It gets used a lot! :D

Made this last week with a Costco skirt steak and the stuff that I had in my pantry. Used palm sugar and herbs de provence, not because it was better, but because that's what I had. Turned out the best fajitas that I had ever made. I had them for several days in breakfast tacos as well. Thanks Sam for giving us permission to use what we have and to view every recipe as a suggestion, not the gospel truth. Oh, and I never measure. Go ahead and make the shirt!

You buy different kinds of meat when you're a beginner. As you develop your skills you find your go-to cuts. You don't have to marinate beef because, it takes away Its natural flavor. You add everything at the end just like you would a hamburger. You can actually cook this with just salt if you wanted. Make yourself a mix to put on at the end. If your cooking for more than you the others may not like everything you like anyway.

I tried this and feel like it was to much soy sauce and salt on top. I had it marinated for 6 hours and was way to salty. Plus I couldn't get a iron steak so I got 2 chuck eye steaks. But way to salty. I wanna look up 6 different marinades and make small amounts of meat 6 different bags and find out which is the best

Flat iron has been my go-to steak for a couple of years now. I order mine from the online store Porter Road. My goodness, you don't even need a marinade. A little salt, a little pepper, some tortillas, guac, and roasted veggies which sometimes don't make it to the table because the steak is so good by itself.

I think i remember seeing a video showing an 1 inch thick ribeye needs to sit out for like an hr or more. They were keeping track of the steak coming to room temp or w. e Surprised how much longer it actually takes than what most people say to take your meat out of the fridge 15-30 mins before cooking

I would never apologize for mayonnaise. I eat it on fries Pulp Fiction style and it's amazing. Eggs, olive oil, salt and lemon juice; what's to hate on? A little minced garlic and it's a party. BTW, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of sea salt to jarred mayo. game changer.
